Project Overview

This project is located in Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian Province in eastern China, that is glutted with banyan trees. In the memory of Fuzhou people, pressing close to nature and loving life are rooted in a big leafy banyan tree. Today, with the rapid development of the times, it is no longer possible to recreate the old life scenes under banyan trees. The design team manages to explore the multiple relationships between men, between man and nature, and between humanity and business in the overall design of space. Breaking the patterns of traditional marketing centers, they integrate commercial ecology and urban furniture into the well-proportioned space, to ingeniously build a new cosmopolitan life aesthetics hall to meet the needs of customers for receiving visitors, taking a leisurely life and entertainment. This has extended the role of the marketing center to receive customers and upgrade their experiences.

Project Brief

The first floor space is dominated by the pure white tone, supplemented with green plants to create a sense of nature. Coupled with eye-catching art installations, the white wire mesh runs through the space with layers of irregular lines to enhance the integrity and perception of the space. On the whole, the art installations are mainly designed with green plants, and placed properly in the space in lovely shapes, to endow the environment with vigor and vitality. They also emphasize balanced symbiotic interdependence between modern architecture and natural environment. The white lines on the art installations apply fresh vines of Fuzhou to further create a natural quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The half-wrapped coffee bar in the middle of the space takes the neutral colors as the main tone rather than choosing complex colors. The soft outdoor light and simple bar design, along with the beauty of natural elements, form a line of sight in the space, showing modern people's attitude towards quality life.

The second floor display space is accessible via a revolving staircase. The space is based on simple, elegant yellow and white colors, featuring a warm and beautiful atmosphere created with orange floriculture everywhere. The children's space extension lounge is designed in a modern technique. Large windows take in the outside views. The plants by the windows create a natural environment. Stepped seats are full of interactions, paired with lovely ornaments, to create a cozy environment connecting children with nature.

Project Innovation/Need

Fuzhou is a place we call the Banyan City. The memory of Banyan City in contemporary life could better reflect and develop the brand aesthetic value of modern urban space. The owner wanted to create a breakthrough in the traditional sales center, incorporating commercial ecology and architectural artworks into the space to create a new cosmopolitan aesthetic pavilion that meets the multiple needs of customers, leisure and entertainment, and the overall space gives the audience a natural, warm and harmonious feeling.

Design Challenge

The challenge for this project was to create a multi-functional aesthetic space with an overall harmonious aesthetic and coordinated color palette, using the soft design of the space to break away from the single function of a traditional sales office, and to make every detail of the overall space look subtle and beautiful.

Sustainability

The stone used for this project was natural marble. Natural marble is a metamorphic rock formed from the original rock in the earth's crust through high temperature and pressure, so this natural marble is dense but not too hard, easy to process, which reduces the processing time of the stone, and in fact reduces the consumption of energy. Moreover, this stone is natural and does not produce environmentally harmful substances during processing.
