Project Brief

Considering the overall aspects of health, convenience, aesthetics and shared spaces, the brief was developed by combining professional views and input from the client to create an optimized sense of space and practical benefits, which is the design core permeating throughout the project.

Project Need

In consideration that the residents currently comprise only a couple and a cat, with preferences leaning towards the female owner’s needs, such as appropriate storage for large amounts of clothing and shoes and a boutique hotel atmosphere for the master bedroom, during the key allocation phase.

Design Challenge

We adjusted the original three-bedroom layout into a more appropriate 1+1 layout, expanding the scope of use for the common area, master bedroom, and master bathroom and including laundry functions in the guest bathroom.

The design team also created low-key and flexible zoning that transitions between common and private areas through the smart usage of glass sliding doors, differentiated flooring, key colour blocks and furniture arrangement, such as a TV wall that integrates display, storage, design and cat playground, and other multi-purpose rooms extended from the common area and an open kitchen area filled with a leisurely atmosphere. We matched it with a dining bar counter and wooden dining table to create a living area that exudes freedom, breaking through the area constraints to bring about a highly open visual effect and layered sense of space.

Sustainability

The design team selected materials and adopted colour schemes to soothe the body and mind: For the homeowners’ preferences and long-term tolerance level, the design team adopted matching mocha brown, milk tea grey and wood textures to build a warm and quiet interior.

The master bedroom adopts lines and boards in royal blue to create a lively and asymmetrical dynamic, and the standalone washbasin and toilet areas are separated using translucent vertical patterned glass and film glass. Wooden grilles are installed at the end of the bed behind the closet, exuding a faint Japanese-styled charm and a romantic sense of formality that permeates daily life in the residence.
