Project Brief

This project is located in the core area of the Wanxiang Section in the Lin-gang special area of Shanghai, adjacent to the LeMa River and Sanzao Port Commercial and Cultural Tourism Resort. With modern, natural, green, and artistic design concepts, it creates a harmonious, comfortable, modern, and elegant community sales space. Combined with the architectural environment, the project organically integrates the green landscape in the interior space, combining clean and bright colors, harmonious textures, and smooth curved lines to create a display space with a strong design and artistic atmosphere.

Project Need

By refining the water culture of the Lingang area, the interior designer created curved wood decorative lines to outline the entrance hall on the first floor, and naturally guide the transition to the sand table display area. With a coherent design language, the curved decorative elements run through the negotiation space on the second floor. The design abandons the traditional sales space's pursuit of luxury sales space and highlights the coordinated wood, metal, and cloth materials, pure and soft beige and brown colors, creating a rich experience space in the limited architectural space.

Design Challenge

Limited by site environmental factors, the display building is small in scale. The interior design breaks the single spatial form of small-scale rectangular buildings. Between the layout of independent functional Spaces, arc elements are used to connect the commonality between Spaces, which not only fits the ideology but also shows the unique style and artistic feelings, generating dialogue in space.

Sustainability

In the design, the designer chooses environmentally friendly and green building materials, adopts decorative materials and furniture with low release of harmful substances, and realizes the overall environmental protection effect of the interior through the overall space layout and furniture arrangement. On the other hand, the interior design makes full use of the external lighting surface of the building, integrates the internal space with the external landscape environment, and realizes more natural ventilation and natural light, reduces the use of lamps, and achieves a saving effect.

Open to all international projects this award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration also given to space allocation, flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
