Project Brief

Inspired by the moon which symbolizes completeness, purity, and beauty in traditional Chinese aesthetics, Half Moon cleverly marries Eastern charm and modern minimalism. Taking into account the elegance of traditional Chinese dressing tables, this product mainly adopts solid wood and white color while featuring a rounded shape, creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere to add a touch of warmth. The name “Half Moon”, which represents a beautiful vision of family reunion and a happy life, conveys the yearning and pursuit of a better life. This dressing table, by virtue of its practicality and aesthetic appeal, serves as not only a piece of furniture but also a carrier of emotion and culture, demonstrating the cultural deposits exclusive to Chinese furniture.

Project Innovation/Need

Half Moon innovates a rotatable design and a rounded, plump Chinese-style shape. Fully considering the characteristics of small-sized bedrooms in China, the length, width, and height of the dressing table are scientifically calculated, while a rotatable design is utilized. These features help to save space and allow users to adjust the product’s position at any time according to their needs, so as to cope with different scenarios. The dressing table, utilizing smooth curves instead of edges and corners, minimizes the risk of injury, while giving a dynamic sense, breaking away from heaviness brought by traditional design.

Design Challenge

As more people pursue a higher quality of life, the challenge of furniture design lies in how to strike a balance between practicality, aesthetic appeal, and a unique appearance.
The three drawers of the dressing table provide sufficient storage space for users, which not only enables various items to be well sorted and stored but also ensures a neat table top. Additionally, the product with a rotatable design realizes enhanced flexibility, allowing users to easily adjust its position for better comfort.
In terms of appearance design, the dressing table takes white derived from the moon as the main color, which symbolizes purity and elegance. Its combination with solid wood and a rounded shape makes the product a carrier of good taste and a positive life attitude.
