Project Brief
With the launch of their new Business Class cabin planned for Farnborough International Airshow 2024, Turkish Airlines asked long-standing partner PriestmanGoode to create a CGI movie that would be both informative and fun. The goal was to highlight the cabin’s detailing and passenger experience in a way that would resonate with a global audience and elevate the product reveal beyond standard marketing material.
The result is one of the most realistic and seamless CGI cabin films ever produced. The visual storytelling showcases key elements of the cabin, such as its 1-2-1 layout, privacy doors, material finishes, and inflight entertainment, while integrating live-action green screen footage to add authenticity and narrative depth. The film has become a central asset in Turkish Airlines’ communications strategy.
Project Innovation/Need
This project demonstrates the growing importance of CGI and visualisation in transport design, both as an internal engagement tool and for launch, advertising, and marketing. PriestmanGoode’s approach delivered a high-quality, fully immersive CGI movie integrated with green screen footage to realistically present Turkish Airlines’ new Business Class cabin.
The film combines technical precision with storytelling, using advanced visual effects to simulate a real onboard experience. With a highly diverse cast that reflects Turkish Airlines’ global customer base, the film successfully conveys the brand’s commitment to inclusivity and service excellence. Working across multiple partners and to tight deadlines, the team developed a solution that brings the cabin to life in a way that is engaging, memorable, and visually compelling.
Design Challenge
A major challenge was delivering a film that balanced creative storytelling with technical accuracy, within a fixed timeframe leading up to Farnborough International Airshow 2024. The project moved through several distinct phases including creative development, production shoot, and VFX, requiring seamless coordination between Turkish Airlines, Popcorn Brain, PriestmanGoode, Fortemus Films, and 3 Deers.
The green screen integration of passengers and crew added a layer of complexity, demanding precise lighting and compositing to create a believable, immersive cabin environment. The film needed to showcase the full experience, from customisation and comfort to materials and entertainment technology, without access to a physical aircraft interior. PriestmanGoode’s experience in planning and executing high-end visual content enabled the team to overcome these constraints and deliver a high-impact result.
Effectiveness
Since its release 10 months ago, the Turkish Airlines Business Class film has achieved over 2.2 million views on YouTube, becoming a key asset in the airline’s global marketing efforts. Premiering at Farnborough International Airshow 2024, the movie attracted strong attention and was praised for its realistic depiction of the passenger experience.
By combining high-quality CGI with green screen footage, the film offers an engaging, human-centred view of the new cabin. It highlights key product features including the 1-2-1 seat layout, privacy, onboard service, and entertainment. The diverse cast reflects Turkish Airlines’ broad customer base, enhancing the film’s global resonance.
The project also supported internal alignment across design, marketing, and executive teams, demonstrating how well-produced CGI can serve both storytelling and strategic communication.
