Project Overview
It is an urban art installation project themed around the concept of “C’est Si Bon.” Located at Sea World Plaza in Shenzhen, the design combines the romantic aesthetics of French gardens with modern commercial communication strategies. Through the creation of an “immersive French garden,” the project aims to build a visually impactful and emotionally resonant micro-vacation scene in the heart of the city. The exhibition is not only a presentation of landscape aesthetics but also a spatial narrative platform for brand engagement, striving to bring a unique romantic experience to citizens and tourists, revitalize the commercial atmosphere of the plaza, and enhance the spatial brand value.

Project Brief
This project aims to boost the popularity and interactive vitality of Sea World Plaza through a scenographic design characterized by high aesthetics and high engagement. The overall layout adopts a central axial symmetry, with a main pathway running through the exhibition area. Functional nodes such as a tea break area, interactive installations, and photo spots are distributed along the axis. European architectural elements, garden landscapes, branded IP features, and soft lighting systems are integrated to create a day-and-night-friendly experiential space. It’s a multifunctional design exploration that blends visual appeal with commercial activation.
Project Innovation/Need
As commercial spaces face increasing competition, traditional decorative installations can no longer meet the growing demand for interaction and participation. This project must break away from the conventional “decorative” mindset, integrating art aesthetics, social media engagement, and brand collaboration to create an immersive commercial scene where visitors can pause, check-in, share, and consume. The design should enhance the site’s attractiveness, extend visitors’ stay, and strengthen their sense of participation and memory. The ultimate goal is to shift users from passive viewers to active participants, driving both traffic conversion and brand communication efficiency.
Design Challenge
The project presents multiple design challenges. Firstly, as an open-air, temporary installation, it must achieve a high level of finish and safety within a limited construction timeline. Secondly, creating a strong French atmosphere while diminishing the visual dominance of the surrounding urban skyscrapers is a major difficulty. Thirdly, the design must offer consistent visual and experiential appeal across both day and night periods to maintain festive energy and long-term interest. Lastly, striking the right balance between artistic expression and commercial functionality is crucial to the project’s success.
Sustainability
The design places emphasis on sustainability strategies. In terms of materials, lightweight and recyclable structures and eco-friendly decorative components are prioritized. The lighting system uses energy-efficient LED fixtures to reduce energy consumption while enhancing the nighttime atmosphere. Floral arrangements follow a naturalistic cluster planting approach, allowing for partial relocation or reuse to minimize waste. The spatial construction aims to avoid damage to the existing ground and infrastructure, ensuring minimal intervention to the site. Through these measures, the project communicates not only aesthetic values but also a commitment to environmental responsibility.
