Willow Ware Australia is celebrating over 125 Years of continuous manufacture here in Melbourne. From very humble beginnings in North Melbourne to a state of the art automated manufacturing facility in Tullamarine. Willow Ware Australia continues on its journey as a family owned enterprise, employing over 250 people with dozens of products available at all major retail outlets. Willow remains a very recognisable brand in Coolers, Storage, Refuse and Outdoor products.

Details - what, who, how

The Willow Ware new range of Coolers and Leisureware products are a departure in design. They reflect the new branding position with greater emphasis on “active lifestyles”.
The range is designed to engender an emotional connection with the consumer as well as reflect the heritage of the original range.

The design is intended to reinvigorate the category through totally new assembly processes and add to the consumer experience by improvements in function and ergonomics.
They embody world’s best quality and reliability and be a bright new addition to the Willow range.

Innovation

The design challenge addressed was to build on the legacy of the original original range with a new fully automated production lines, improved material processes and functionality.
Innovation:
- New integrated moulding processes
- Reduced number of components
- Improved fetures to exclude any dirt or dust from food areas
- A more rugged outer base on each cooler product for greater durability
- Elevated bases to allow air circulation at ground level to improve cooling performance
- Improved insulation areas
- Improvements in tight fitting lids for better cooling
- Automated construction and reduced manual handling

Sustainability

Our approach is always to ensure there is minimal harm to the environment. We pride ourselves in our automated processes which ensure the minimal use of materials without compromising quality and product integrity. We operate a continuous regrind process to reclaim all waste material for later recycling. Our products are designed and manufactured with a promise to offer many years of enjoyment and avoid ending up as land fill.
