As Australia’s first industry super fund, LUCRF Super is no stranger to leading the way. When it partnered with Luminary to rebuild its website, LUCRF Super’s vision was more than just a new site. True to its philosophy of always putting members first, it wanted to completely redefine the industry benchmark for online user experience. At the heart of this project was a very simple mission: ‘to create a friendly and helpful experience for members and employers’. The key objectives were also fairly straightforward: to drive member retention through an improved digital experience, and to support growth through direct member acquisition. What was remarkable, however, was the extent to which LUCRF Super was prepared to go to comprehend and deliver on the needs of its audience.
Cancer Council Australia

Cancer Council is the nation’s leading cancer charity, and the only Australian charity working across every aspect of every cancer – from research to prevention and support. The national office, Cancer Council Australia (CCA), had not updated its website since 2012. As a result, its presentation, content and structure were outdated and in need of a major overhaul. With an ageing CMS, security, stability and ease of maintenance had also become problematic. Rather than attempting to conduct a ‘bandaid fix’ of the existing site, CCA decided to start afresh, switching platforms and completely rebuilding the site.
With a focus on future-proofing and scalability, CCA chose to build the site using headless CMS Kentico Kontent. This would provide the scope to expand content beyond the web and leverage new technology as it emerges. It also provides an ideal platform to serve common, national content with local information for states/territories as required, with the integration of the Cancer Council Northern Territory site included with the initial launch.
While the project was predominantly driven and implemented in-house, CCA engaged digital agency Luminary in an advisory capacity, to guide and support its internal team. Luminary augmented the CCA website team with specialist services around agile consultancy, UX and design, front end development, DevOps, QA and Kentico Kontent.
The project resulted in an extremely user-friendly, fast and robust website, built according to agency best practices but with CCA having all the in-house knowledge and expertise to continue to maintain and enhance it on an ongoing basis.
Maple-Brown Abbott

As one of Australia’s first boutique investment management firms, Maple-Brown Abbott has been managing investment portfolios for investors since 1984. When it was founded nearly 40 years ago, Maple-Brown Abbott (MBA) specialised in Australian equities. Over time though, the organisation has evolved and it is now a global business focussing on Australian equities, Asian equities and global listed infrastructure securities – with clients in over 20 countries.
Ivory Coat Food Check

Every pet is unique and each has different nutritional needs. As a producer of high quality natural pet foods, Ivory Coat is regularly asked about the dietary requirements of dogs and cats. So it decided to create a digital resource that would not only take the guesswork out of feeding for pet owners, but would also raise brand awareness and strengthen consumer loyalty. The brand engaged Luminary to help it bring its vision to life.
The result was Ivory Coat Food Check – an interactive tool to help pet owners work out the amount and type of food to feed their dog or cat, based on a range of factors including age, breed, size and activity level.
Food Check has been extremely well received in the market and has successfully raised brand awareness for Ivory Coat. It has been a strong driver of traffic to the site, with sessions up 70.75% in the two months post launch, compared with the previous two months. During this period, overall page views were up by 360.44%. Engagement metrics were also positive, with pages per session rising by 169.65%, and the bounce rate going down by more than 20%.
Adviceline Injury Lawyers

Adviceline Injury lawyers is a leading personal injury practice that has been helping Victorians get their lives back on track for more than 50 years. The firm had a website that was clunky and difficult for content administrators to update. Navigation had also become very difficult for users, and the site was in need of a design refresh.
This project involved a complete rebuild of the site, beginning with a content audit and strategy to redesign the site’s information architecture. The outcome was a vastly simplified and more intuitive information architecture and a much cleaner design that more appropriately reflects the firm’s positioning in the market.
Clipspec Design Application

Clipsal by Schneider Electric has been a leader in electrical and lighting for over 100 years. The company offers a design service to consumers building or renovating their homes. Underpinning this service is Clipspec, a web-based app that enables consultants to help consumers tailor their electrical, lighting and smart home plans and bring them to life.
