Project Overview
The infinite possibility of life is the origin of inspiration. The designer takes the abstract elements to express the inhabitants' expectations and aspirations for living, and the infinite possibilities for the future. Therefore, this case takes light as the main design element and focuses on the creation of light, enriching the expression of space. With light and diffuse reflection, presenting the details of space elegantly with light and shadow, the design brings the appropriate brightness at various points in time.
In this design, the designer uses the structure of the space and the material itself as the carrier of light. The designer uses the technique of interlacing, mirroring and overlapping the virtual and physical bodies to create a dynamic and interesting but soft and comfortable space lighting for the whole project.
Through a large number of floor-to-ceiling windows and landscaping, the house has elegant natural light and pleasant scenery during the day. While the night light comes in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the furniture, ceiling and floor reflect the natural light. the bronze gold decorative material presents an alternative night light at night. This home, created entirely with indirect light sources, have a rich and varied light expression anytime.

Project Brief
This project has a 380 square meter outdoor courtyard, and the building itself is surrounded by scenery. Therefore, the designer opens up the layout with large windows on all sides to preserve the green landscape and allow natural sunlight to enter and fill the interior.
In order to make the space with light everywhere, not cutting off either visual nor spatial sense, the designer forms a framework with light bands. Through the light, the area attributes are defined. At the same time, the foyer is hollowed out to link the living room and dining room with an open approach. The partitions and cabinets are also designed with a sense of penetration. The greenery framed by the large open windows is allowed to enter the interior and becomes the most natural decoration in the space.
Through diffuse lighting, the space and decorations become art pieces in the space. In the ceiling of the living room, a recessed triangular light box is used to contain the downlight inside. By reflecting the light in the box, the light beam from the top is gentled spread evenly in the space. The floor is illuminated by LED light strips hidden in the walls to bring visual depth and a sense of upward extension. Let the light pass between the virtual and the real, and extend naturally in the space, from the living room to the dining room to the bedroom, using light to dance a rich pattern.
Project Need
In this project, the designer uses light sources in a variety of ways. The building material is used as the carrier of light, through diffuse lighting design and reflection of reflective materials. The color planning of the entire space considers the characteristics of the materials, emphasizing light and shadow, materials, and details. Because of the interaction of light lines and metallic texture, the space where with stone is full of textured style. In the selection of materials, the warm woodwork is used to bring warmth to the space and eliminate the cold feeling brought by the large amount of glossy materials.
The living room showcase is decorated with titanium plated strips in antique bronze to match the vintage mirror. The reflective properties of the titanium plated version interact with the light strips to create a sense of patina. The bedside of the master bedroom is installed the interspersed light strips and bandages to reflect light and achieve a richness of light and shadow. The living space on the second floor is narrow and long, so the designer presents it in the form of a corridor. The entire long TV wall is lined with patterns and light strips to create a sense of rhythm to extend it even further. The light strips serve as a directional guide. Following the light to the end, it is the master bedroom. With the reflection of the marble floor, the light strips are full of rhythm.
Design Challenge
The diversity of materials is one of the main points to enrich this space. But at the same time, how to arrange the fit between each material is also the challenge to be sorted. To balance the intersection of different materials, the designer has conducted a lot of experiments and adjustments in the process. After adjusting and calculating in detail, the space is completed with a combination of generosity and interests.
Sustainability
The designer used local Taiwanese marble. Reduce the carbon footprint. For the flooring, walls and furniture, various types of marble with different textures are chosen to allow the light lines to spread and penetrate the space, so that the light lines can pass, intertwine and dance between the real and the virtual.
