Project Overview

Embark on a digital odyssey into the heart of Australia's Golden Outback (AGO). Our journey took us across the vast terrain of web development, to transform AGO's once aging and outdated website into a vibrant, interactive, and innovative digital platform. More than a facelift, this project is a complete metamorphosis, integrating interactive mapping and state-of-the-art digital features. It's a digital compass guiding visitors to the vast expanses of the outback, as boundless and diverse as the land itself.

Fueling this evolution is the Roam platform, our proprietary destination marketing SAAS. Seamlessly integrating mapping technology, lightning fast search, and ATDW integration; we have created an interactive adventure guide, complete with digital innovations and mapping features that transport users to the heart of the AGO from the comfort of their screen.. A captivating user experience awaits, encapsulating the breathtaking beauty of Australia's Golden Outback.

Project Brief

Our mission was to build a digital doppelgänger of the largest tourism region in Australia - the vast and varied landscapes of Australia's Golden Outback, stretching from the rugged red earth of Mount Augustus and Kennedy Ranges in the north, to the sweeping snow-white beaches of Esperance and the southern coast.

The aim was to create more than just a website, but a comprehensive, intuitive, and engaging resource for anyone yearning for the adventure that awaits in the region.

Project Need

Roam is more than a destination marketing SAAS platform—it's a digital game-changer, bringing the best of breed digital experiences to destination marketers. It's the answer to a growing need for efficient, powerful, and comprehensive tools that save time and money, while delivering an unrivalled suite of features in the Australian market.

In a landscape where time is of the essence, the integration of ATDW (Australian Tourism Data Warehouse) synchronisation offers an exceptional boon, saving destination marketers hundreds of hours spent creating and updating content for hundreds of tourism operators. This, coupled with the blazing fast Algolia-driven search, places Roam at the forefront of digital innovation in destination marketing.

User Experience

The essence of the AGO brand is beautifully and strikingly realized in this digital iteration. In a crowded digital space, our design ensures a cut-through presence. The seamless integration of ATDW synchronisation and interactive Mapbox mapping offers a user experience that's as diverse and expansive as the region it represents.

The rich storytelling, vivid imagery, and video content, along with the interactive trip itineraries, immerse users in the landscapes and culture of the Golden Outback. Our platform is more than just a window into this vast region; it's a digital stepping stone, inviting users to explore and engage with the wonders of the Outback.

A digital platform as comprehensive as the AGO website necessitates a robust privacy framework. The project complies with all Australian Privacy Principles, ensuring the security and privacy of its users. It is hosted on the Roam platform, which does not store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII), ensuring that while users are immersed in the digital landscape of the website, their privacy remains intact and uncompromised. The privacy measures implemented in this project demonstrate our commitment to creating secure, user-friendly digital experiences.
