Project Overview

This is a renovated old apartment. The name "Harmony" is derived from the richness and harmony of the lines that extend and reflect the variety of materials in the same color palette. The smooth visual rhythm connects the family. The design takes into account the living needs of the owners and provides comprehensive spatial planning and facility updates. Each of the seven members of the family has different needs and living habits, which the designers have integrated and realized in the design.
The designers linked the visual connection between the duplex to enhance the sense of transparency and interactivity. The use of soft leather and soft delicate cloth texture in the room increases the softness and makes the luxury with a romantic atmosphere. Residents can enjoy an efficient and comfortable living space. Its functional areas are well-divided, with ample storage space and overall brightness and comfort, enhancing the quality, convenience, and happiness of daily life.

Project Brief

The designers’ greatest aesthetic link to the owner is the consistency and coherence of the design. In this duplex space, the first thing that catches the eye is the magnificent TV wall design. The dark stone is complemented by the natural texture of other stones to show the beauty of nature. The dark gray stone patterns are intertwined like an abstract painting of nature, injecting layers into the space.
The wall lamps on both sides of the TV wall make the marble even more delicate, forming a perfect harmony with the stone walls. The design of the dining room is simple and grand. The large dining table in the center symbolizes family unity and harmony, encouraging family members to sit together and share good times. This design makes meals an important ritual in daily life and enhances interaction and emotional exchange among family members.

Project Need

-A combination of curved shapes and a variety of materials
The curved shape creates a smooth and soft atmosphere. This design not only makes the space more dynamic and layered but also expands the visual breadth. The combination of various materials, such as imported soft boards with high curvature and customizability, allows them to be used in various curved designs and harmonize with other materials to achieve both aesthetics and practicality. The designers spent a great deal of time discussing the combination of materials to ensure a harmonious atmosphere.

-Vertical and Horizontal Splits in Stone, Laminate and Metal
A variety of materials are used to create a modern, understated luxury style. The vertical and horizontal splits of laminate and metal are subtle and refined. The designers utilize the characteristics of the materials to create multi-layered visual effects in the space and enhance the overall depth and texture while ensuring that each corner is presented with exquisite detail.

Design Challenge

Due to the needs of the family of five, the designers needed to provide more functional areas in a small space, including multiple bedrooms and plenty of storage space. This required the designers to be very meticulous in utilizing every inch of space. The project involved planning a large number of hidden and efficient storage areas while keeping the space tidy. The use of storage underneath the staircase and the utilization of various irregular spaces are all examples of the designers' expertise. The renovation of old pipes was also a major challenge. Leakage, corrosion, and clogging can damage the space and affect the overall design and functionality.

Sustainability

The designers used large floor-to-ceiling windows and open-plan planning to maximize natural light and reduce the need for artificial lighting. The staggered arrangement of front and rear windows realizes effective natural ventilation. This design improves indoor air quality and effectively reduces the frequency of air-conditioning use to achieve energy savings.
In selecting building materials, the designer used green, low-pollution, sustainable, and recyclable materials, such as environmentally friendly materials, environmentally friendly paints, easy-to-clean and highly durable building materials, reducing the use of cleaning agents, and the frequency of replacement. Tile and laminate have high plasticity and durability, and their production process less impacts the environment. Wear-resistant and easy-to-clean characteristics result in low maintenance costs and long service life, further realizing the concept of sustainability.
