Project Brief
Car Group (Carsales) wanted to transform an underutilized zone of their ground floor office space into a newly fit-out workspace for their executive team that reflected their brand, values, and culture and welcomed their staff, clients, and visitors.
The executive zone features a reception, boardroom, CEO office, AV-enabled meeting rooms , quiet rooms, working booths, and a multifunctional communal kitchen breakout area with a dual use function for informal meetings and collaboration.
In addition, the space features a golf simulator with inbuilt seating for staff to enjoy some more relaxed moments together. The room also doubles as a presentation space.
A concept of 'Industrial Elegance' was achieved through the selection of stunning natural stones, combined with the use of metals, dark timber wallpapers and floors, acoustic panels for both function and aesthetics, and reflective surfaces for bold impact.
Project Innovation/Need
The fit-out has elevated a previously dull and dim space that was previously underutilised, into a thriving hub of activity with staff eager to return to the office. The addition of specialised VC rooms has allowed the office to become a truly hybrid environment, where off-site staff can still feel like they are part of the in-person conversations happening in the office. In addition the breakout & golf simulator zone provides a highly designed and beautiful atmosphere for staff to either work or play.
These areas promote down time just as much as productivity, allowing staff to take time out of their work day to reset and recharge when required - ultimately increasing overall productivity and feelings of wellbeing for the Car Group (Carsales) team.
Design Challenge
Flexibility and creating dual use capability for all of the spaces was a key challenge for the success of the project. This fit-out enables staff to plug and play from anywhere within the space with the use of integrated power and data into furniture and joinery. This increases flexibility for staff and allows them to work wherever they feel inspired for the day, ultimately increasing creativity and productivity. The space has been lifted from a very dark and drab environment into a welcoming and elegant workplace.
Sustainability
All new products specified in the project were sustainably sourced and locally produced products. A high level of workstation and furniture reuse has been implemented, ensuring no unnecessary waste,
