Project Overview

In the heart of this interior design endeavor lies a semi-finished residence, a canvas of possibilities encompassing approximately 347 square meters, destined to become the cherished home for a bustling family of six. With their unique needs and desires, this family presented an exhilarating challenge to our design team: a mission to devise a layout that harmoniously accommodated five bedrooms and three bathrooms, all while fulfilling the family's storage space. Therefore, our design team took the concept of an "open layout" to soaring heights. It achieved such transformation: a dining room enveloped by five bedrooms, where the boundaries between shared and private spaces blur seamlessly.

Project Brief

The traditional corrido is replaced by an uninterrupted flow that paints the interiors with a sense of freedom and openness, coupled with a sprawling banquet space that beckons to entertain friends and family. Every nook and cranny of the design has been thoughtfully utilized to carve out a wealth of storage solutions, elegantly addressing the needs of this bustling family. In this tale of transformation, our design team has woven practicality with aesthetics, transforming a once semi-finished residence into a haven of spaciousness, connection, and functionality.

Stepping inside this captivating interior space, one will be greeted by a corridor-less wonderland—a seamless blend of openness and fluidity. The entrance, living room, dining area, and kitchen converge into a harmonious expanse, devoid of traditional barriers. Also, the very ground beneath also tells a story of distinction and character. Here, flooring materials become the storytellers, guiding through the residence with their tactile tales. On the other hand, tiles and wood flooring demarcate the various spaces within this home. Marble surfaces glisten with timeless elegance, while titanium-plated metal and delicate wire elements weave layers of sophistication into the design.

Project Need

Yet, the heart of the space lies in the center island and bar, a custom creation that mirrors the grace of the shared living area. Stone and titanium-plated metal elements seamlessly merge, creating a hub that transcends mere functionality. Here, adults find a sanctuary for relaxation and drinks, while children discover their favorite dining spot—a versatile haven where memories are made and shared.

The team has used forced perspective to merge spaces visually. An example of this is a see-through perforated board, strategically placed as a backdrop between the daughter's room and the dining cabinet. This clever use of forced perspective transforms two distinct spaces into one, where boundaries dissolve, and imagination knows no limits. Material splicing, a subtle yet powerful technique, was employed to conceal the entrance to a hidden compartment in the living room. Here, division is minimized, and the design element dances in harmony with the streamlined shape of the ceiling and wall, giving birth to a seamless symphony of design that caresses the senses, creating an unbroken flow of vision and movement.

Design Challenge

In the main bedroom, a symphony of design elements converges to create an atmosphere of modern elegance. Here, light colors bathe the room, invoking a sense of serenity and space. Sleek lines define the furniture, while marble surfaces and titanium-plated metal accents add a touch of opulence. Yet, amidst this contemporary grandeur, a waist-high wall design serves as a harmonious counterpoint, striking the perfect balance between form and function. Venture into the enchanting realm of the children's room, where colors burst forth to celebrate the unique personalities of its young inhabitants. Each color scheme is a testament to individuality. Meanwhile, closets and desks are ingeniously incorporated into the room's design, optimizing spatial efficiency without losing charm. Even the end of the bed, often overlooked, is transformed into a haven of utility—ensuring that no inch of space goes to waste.

the heart of this mission lay the owner's vision of a “smooth flow” and an “open space”. To bring this vision to life, the team forsook traditional corridors and embraced the liberating expanse of open-plan design. Transparent materials became their allies, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor, creating a dance of light and space that was enchanting. Moreover, awkward corners and the often-neglected end of the bed became creative storage solutions, transforming them into functional and stylish design elements.

Sustainability

The design team has made use of eco-friendly materials to allow an environmentally conscious haven to exist for health and harmony. Every detail is simply the whisper of sustainability. The cabinetry, a testament to the team's commitment, is constructed from recycled wood chips. These cabinets not only serve their practical purpose but also breathe life into the concept of mindful living. The wood flooring is more than just a surface, it is a commitment to eco-friendliness. Super-resistant and low in formaldehyde, it stands as a resilient guardian of health and safety. Its moisture-proof properties ensure longevity, a testament to the harmony between nature and design. Yet, the heart of sustainability beats within the walls of this residence, where intelligent home systems have been seamlessly integrated to regulate every facet of daily life—from lighting to air conditioning, curtains to audio equipment. The result is an environment that not only conserves energy but also envelops comfort. In this narrative of design, sustainability is presented as an approach that not only fosters a sustainable and energy-saving environment but also transforms this residence into a sanctuary for people of all ages.
