Project Overview
The owner of this project holds a position of great responsibility, overseeing technology research and development, as well as domestic and foreign trade and sales. He is a strong advocate for a relaxed, open, and free approach to life, and this philosophy has been reflected in the design of the space. The designer has taken inspiration from the "Mediterranean Style" to create a living space that is both inviting and visually stunning. The overall color scheme is a simple yet elegant white, with navy blue accents that add a touch of sophistication.

Project Brief
The Mediterranean elements, such as the use of natural materials and the incorporation of plants, create a calming and peaceful atmosphere. The slow living approach has been embraced, with a focus on creating a space that encourages relaxation and self-reflection. The design also takes into account the neighboring residential fishing port, with elements that echo the local culture and traditions. The end result is a living space that is not only beautiful but also functional, with a strong emphasis on creating a space that is in harmony with the natural surroundings.
Project Need
As you enter the room, you'll be greeted by the natural light that floods in through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, which brightens up the entire space. In the dusty area, a helm wheel is hung on the wall to achieve the nautical theme effect. The entire side wall is equipped with a mirrored surface to expand the visual space, making the area feel more open and less cramped.
Design Challenge
Moving towards the dining area, the designer has used the concept of a nautical compass to create a square and round display wall, with a model of a sailboat as the visual focus to emphasize the key elements. In the living room area, the TV wall is specially coated with shellac to emphasize the oceanic elements. This way, the oceanic image connects the entire space. Apart from the Mediterranean theme, the residence also has a balcony that offers a stunning view of the sea. With the support of both, a relaxing atmosphere is created for the residents.
Sustainability
Since the 1960s, there has been a global movement towards environmental protection, and environmental issues and concepts have gradually gained importance. Nowadays, environmental protection has become an essential part of spatial design. In this project, the public area is designed to be open, allowing a large amount of natural light to enter the room. This reduces the need for artificial lighting during the daytime, which in turn increases the lifespan of the lights and minimizes electricity consumption. Additionally, an energy-saving air-conditioning system is used, with variable frequency air-conditioning to meet the needs of different areas. When the room temperature reaches the user's desired level, the compressor reduces its frequency, resulting in energy savings and carbon reduction. Furthermore, the entire room is painted with low-formaldehyde, environmentally friendly latex paint. This not only reduces harm to human health but also mitigates the impact on the earth. By doing so, we can achieve the environmental benefits of "Habitat Health", "Ecological Health", "Human Health", and "Earth Sustainability". This ensures that the residents live in a healthy and safe environment.
