Project Innovation/Need
The De Yigou team has developed a revolutionary kitchen light that is sure to improve the cooking experience for anyone who spends time in the kitchen. This hand-controlled light was created after careful observation of the layout and activity patterns in the kitchen. The team noticed that kitchen lighting is often blocked by upper cabinets, leaving the cooking area dimly lit. Moreover, during the cooking process, the cook's hands are frequently occupied with washing ingredients and handling food, making it difficult to turn on the light. To overcome these challenges, the De Yigou Kitchen Lighting combines a hand-controlled sensor light with a hook that enables the light to be turned on without any obstacles, even if the cook's hands are greasy and covered with ingredients. This innovative approach ensures that the cooking area is well-lit, making it easier to prepare food safely and efficiently. Additionally, the hook keeps the fixture clean, preventing it from getting stained with food and maintaining a sanitized cooking area. Design Challenge
The product packaging is a work of art, crafted from sturdy cardboard that belies its seemingly fragile appearance. The pentagonal structure design is not just visually appealing but also provides exceptional stability to the De Yigou lamps and transformers placed within the box. Moreover, the package includes a cable outlet, a small space for storing hand-controlled lamps, and a hook opening that adds to its practicality and elegance.
The package's openwork design is reminiscent of Sun Wukong's golden cudgel from the classic Chinese novel The Journey to the West. Its slender proportions are skillfully crafted, and the skeleton pattern of a flame totem, and free-form linear design create an illusion of a flaming bird dancing when the light reflects off of it. This design perfectly symbolizes the "nirvana of the phoenix, reborn from the fire", and conveys the meaning of beauty, splendor, and eternity.
To add to the package's charm, it is made of peacock green, a color that symbolizes peace and happiness in both Eastern and Western cultures.
