Project Overview

In the contemporary world, the concept of having an open and personalized living space has become more and more crucial to people. To address the issue of space congestion caused by the layout of an old house, a designer decided to adopt an open pattern planning to break the field restrictions and provide the residents with a more comfortable and free living space.

Project Brief

The designer used a popular Scandinavian style, which is known for its simple and elegant features, and a milky tea color scheme to match each other. The calming and warm tones of this color scheme make the interior of the house more welcoming and visually appealing. The result is a home that is not only beautiful but also functional and suited to the needs of its residents.

Project Need

The residence boasts an interior that is simply breathtaking. The milk-tea-colored flooring adds an elegant touch and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, making the space perfect for relaxation. The open-plan layout is a masterstroke by the designers, as it seamlessly integrates the living room and dining area, resulting in a spacious and comfortable environment for the homeowner and their guests. The clever design ensures that the space is well-lit and bright, thanks to the use of natural light that streams in from the windows. The kitchen is separated from the main living space by a stunning sliding glass door, which not only allows natural light to flow freely but also ensures that cooking fumes are contained, making it a safe and healthy environment for cooking.

Design Challenge

Moving on to the private living spaces, one will notice that the designers have displayed their thoughtfulness in arranging the functional facilities in each room to create a seamless and harmonious flow. The desk has been placed by the window, allowing for natural light to pour in, while also providing a stunning view for the homeowner during work hours. Additionally, the bed has been positioned away from the window, creating a peaceful and serene sleeping environment. This clever positioning of the bed also reduces the brightness level, giving the residents a restful and calming atmosphere, perfect for a good night's sleep.

Sustainability

In pursuit of creating a healthy, safe, and sustainable living environment, the construction of the room uses more than 90% of environmentally friendly green building materials. The use of these materials includes low formaldehyde and low VOC paints, panels, and system cabinets, which help reduce indoor air pollution and promote a healthy living environment. The application of fireproof, moisture-proof, and moth-proof calcium silicate board, on the other hand, ensures the safety and durability of the room structure. By considering the environmental impact of the construction materials, the design realizes the four environmental spirits of "Habitat Health", "Ecological Health", "Human Health", and "Earth Sustainability". This approach not only provides residents with a healthy and comfortable living environment but also contributes to the protection of our planet's valuable resources.
