Project Brief

What makes Ombra exciting is its advanced features. At its core is an advanced automotive-grade intelligent control system. This system can effortlessly manage a series of functions, including integrated air conditioning, adjustable solar blinds, hidden blinds, fine mist, and lighting. The 120° automatically flipped louvered roof, combined with a constant temperature and humidity control system, ensures a comfortable environment regardless of external conditions.

Ombra is powered by cutting-edge solar energy and an efficient energy storage system, generating approximately 15 kWh of electricity per day. This not only solves the problem of energy shortage in outdoor environments but also provides users with a sustainable and comfortable outdoor experience, whether they are relaxing or working.

Project Innovation/Need

Ombra brings several novel elements to the market. It innovatively combines the most advanced solar technology with green design concepts to achieve zero carbon emissions. The modular design is a major breakthrough that can meet the diverse needs of residential and commercial users.

This allows customization according to different environments and requirements, whether it is a comfortable backyard resort or a bustling commercial place. Different from traditional pergolas, which are limited by single-function designs and are vulnerable to harsh weather, Ombra can effectively manage energy supply, withstand harsh weather and adapt to temperature fluctuations. Therefore, it provides a brand new all-round solution for smart outdoor living and expands the availability of outdoor spaces.

Design Challenge

The design of Ombra faces multiple challenges. Firstly, traditional pergolas have limited functions and are easily affected by bad weather. The design team must find ways to enhance functions while ensuring protection from extreme weather conditions. In terms of materials, they need to choose components that are not only durable but also in line with the overall design concept.

For example, the frame is made of durable aluminum profiles and metal parts that can withstand winds up to force 16, and high-quality TIGER powder coating made in Austria is used to improve durability. In addition, understanding and meeting various market needs from residential comfort to commercial functions is also crucial. Balancing all these aspects within a reasonable time frame and ensuring effective communication among team members are also key challenges.

Sustainability

Ombra achieves sustainable development in many ways. It uses cutting-edge solar technology and an efficient energy storage system to generate approximately 15 kWh of electricity per day and achieve zero carbon emissions.
