The SodaStream Professional is a bold innovation designed to support modern hydration. This visionary beverage ecosystem allows users to set their daily hydration goals and automatically tracks their path towards meeting them, while also taking stock of their environmental impact. When a user approaches the platform, the digital display illuminates with a soft and inviting glow that draws them in and envelops them in a one-on-one interaction. When a user scans their QR code, their preferences appear on the screen to personalize every step of their experience for a customized beverage.

Project Innovation/Need

The SodaStream Professional is a bold innovation designed to support modern hydration. This visionary beverage ecosystem allows users to set their daily hydration goals and automatically tracks their path towards meeting them. When individuals approach the SodaStream Professional, they scan a QR code and are met with a screen that personalizes every step of their experience. There is a back-and-forth engagement between the unit as it leads the user to customize a beverage. Although most people don't necessarily think of variety when it comes to water, the platform allows many facets of personalization – from the flavor of the water and its intensity to three carbonation and temperature levels – offering hundreds of options with just a few clicks.

Not only can people personalize their beverage, but they're also able to take stock of their environmental impact. Even without an account, it knows how much that unit has dispensed and saved in plastic bottles. The unit keeps a real-time count of plastic bottles saved with each pour and saves as their unique preferences (like favorite flavors and carbonation levels) over time for instant future access. The app records this information, so users can track their daily hydration away from the platform and have access to their goals and impact whenever they desire.

Now, people utilize technology and apps to tailor and track every aspect of their day. Not only can they customize their water flavor, temperature, and carbonation level while at the unit, but they can save their preferred combinations in the app for future pours at any SodaStream Professional.

The intuitive mobile interaction is designed to support, not dictate, the all-day-long experience that is hydration. To encourage more sustainable habits, the app effectively tallies the plastic bottles every person saves by refilling their bottle across the system. Each time the user interacts with the SodaStream Professional and app, they come face to face with their positive impact on the environment.

While most apps are the center of the interaction, the SodaStream Professional app is expressly designed to stay out of the way. When a user scans their QR code, their preferences appear on the screen, and their hydration habits are consistently recorded and stored for reference.
