Project Brief
Perched on the 15th floor, this dwelling revels in a majestic urban panorama. Drawing inspiration from the breathtaking view and a sense of opulent living, the design embodies practicality, merging with cultural arts and a luxurious style. Classical lines define the mansion's grandeur while modern design elements capture meticulous details and proportions. Biomimetic elements and chic home décor string together the visual narrative of the space, harmoniously blending natural art pieces and light fixtures with various materials.
Surrounding the living room are floor-to-ceiling windows, introducing ample natural light and an expansive view indoors, while a curved sofa creates a visual focal point. The concept, derived from landscape paintings, culminates in the art television wall, which serves as the visual centerpiece of the living room. A slide rail design, adorned with metal edges, transforms the entire wall into an exquisite art piece. The layout situates the two rooms on either side of the space, separated by an open communal area, preserving their independence. Notably, a tea and snack area allows residents to enjoy a holiday-like mood at any time, alleviating everyday work-related stress. Separated by a wall, the tea area fosters a serene ambiance, its candy-colored tones and artwork adorning the space, generating a vibrant atmosphere.
Drawing from the ideas of the Art Nouveau style and divergent aesthetics, the design creates an aesthetically pleasing art scene amid a riot of colors and layered materials, crafting a luxurious space that complements the aesthetic lifestyle of its residents.
Project Innovation/Need
The television wall serves as the visual centerpiece of the living room, its concept derived from landscape painting. After the composition was completed, multi-colored marble pieces were assembled to create wall patterns, transforming the entire wall into a magnificent piece of art. Accented with metal edging, the base of the cabinet is finished with a black mirrored panel, complemented by a Guaxs art vase, imbuing the space with an air of opulent elegance.
Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, the living room offers expansive views of endless greenery. The large, bright windows usher in natural light and broad vistas, capturing the spectacular scenery in full view. High above the ground, this space boasts an unobstructed view and private enjoyment, free from outside disturbances. Meanwhile, a curved sofa creates a visual focus in the space. A sliding art door panel conceals the television on regular days, so when the family gathers in this space, their attention is not focused on the television. Instead, they can enjoy quality time together under the enveloping aura of art.
The two bedrooms of the house are situated on opposite sides, and a large common area is in the center, keeping the occupants of the master bedroom and the other bedroom separate while connected. To provide more options, apart from the collective living room, a tea corner and a light meal area are also designated in the space, making it feasible for the inhabitants to have a break from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy a holiday-like ambiance whenever they wish. This way, the inhabitants can have multiple zones to shift their moods and make each day feel like a vacation, assisting with the alleviation of the stressful work load.
Design Challenge
In reaction to the pandemic, a shared bathroom and dust area have been designed at the entrance, serving as the first line of defense against disease-causing organisms. When entering the foyer, visitors are welcomed by the vibrant and whimsical artworks of Swiss painter Thierry Feuz - with its sweet hues and romantic floral motifs, it is like entering a world of color and fantasy from the steel jungle of the city. At the end of the foyer is yet another painting by Thierry Feuz, and the flower-inspired chandelier by Serip, creating a visual harmony that captures and preserves beauty in this home.

Sustainability
Through extensive windows and an open layout, the use of natural light is maximized, allowing it to fully illuminate the interior. This not only reduces the need for artificial lighting, saving energy consumption in lighting, but also provides a healthy and comfortable living environment.
