Project Brief
Airwheel SE3SL, an electric smart suitcase amalgamating storage, mobility, charging, and other practical functionalities, aims to solve the difficulties users face during short-distance travel. Meanwhile, the product complies with international airline carry-on size specifications, allowing direct boarding without the need for check-in. This saves time and energy for users, significantly enhancing convenience of travel.
Project Innovation/Need
- Airwheel SE3SL innovatively integrates the conventional suitcase’s storage capability with a ride-and-go feature, offering users a multi-scenario travel solution. It boasts speeds of up to 9.9km/h, a 180mm telescopic handle, and a self-locking buckle structure, ensuring a smooth and safe ride. The suitcase is equipped with 5.2-inch vacuum foam tyres and a high-strength aluminium alloy frame, which allows a load capacity of up to 95kg, adaptable to various road conditions and user requirements.
- The suitcase with two sets of USB charging ports meets users’ mobile charging needs during travel. Supported by a proprietary intelligent APP, it supports cruise control, Bluetooth disconnection alerts, search functionality, and customizable route programming, establishing a comprehensive service ecosystem.
- As for appearance design, the central part of the suitcase is adorned with a circular logo depicting a tech-inspired animation character, complemented by cool LED lighting, adding a vibrant, high-tech aesthetic.
Design Challenge
The biggest challenge was how to provide a convenient experience. To address that, Airwheel SE3SL prioritizes operational simplicity. It incorporates turnbuckles on the left and right sides of the handle for forward/backward and brake functions, lowering the usage barrier to improve ease of use.
Furthermore, the product comes with a dedicated smart APP that further enhances user experience by offering intelligent features such as cruise control, Bluetooth disconnection alerts, search functionality, and customizable route programming, reflecting the brand’s deep insight into user needs and its humanistic care.
Sustainability
- Airwheel SE3SL integrates storage, mobility, charging, and other functionalities, reducing the necessity for multiple independent products and effectively mitigating excessive resource consumption and environmental impact.
- The modular plug-and-play lithium battery design facilitates easy disassembly and reassembly without needing tools, which ensures smooth recyclability at the end of its lifespan, contributing to sustainable resource recycling.
- The product employs lightweight yet high-strength materials, achieving good durability with excellent wear resistance. This avoids frequent replacement to minimize resource consumption and waste production, aligning well with environmental conservation principles.
