Project Overview

Owing to the designer’s love of music and reading, refined, cultivated simplicity can be felt in the design. Skillful methodology is also applied to create natural motifs close to life. The open-concept layout and clever blend of varied materials allow the studio to morph into a simple space that encompasses both aesthetics and functionality. In this way, visitors will be deeply impressed, feel even more rest assured, and start to build up expectations and imagination for their future homes.

Project Brief

The office of a design team specialised in spatial planning not only meets professional needs but also makes a deep impression on its clients, who will start to imagine a life in the future. Located on the first floor of a newly built residential building, Zone of Light utilises large quantities of wooden materials and white walls to create a natural, warm vibe. It also takes advantage of its two high-ceiling floors to optimize space use and visually captivate clients’ imaginations.

Project Need

In the reception section, floating cabinetry seems to be supported by a wooden pillar reaching the ceiling. The entryway is defined by a Dark-toned tall cabinet and shoe bench. Above and below the cabinet is a blank space that ties in with the horizontal openings on the cabinet, adding an open, transparent touch to the space. The long table in the middle of the open-concept office serves to elongate the section in this elevated space to construct an even better visual balance.

Design Challenge

Behind the entryway is an open view. The special layout of a high-ceiling first floor and a loft is made the best of, and spatial layers and indirect lighting accentuating the three-dimensionality of the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves on one side become focal points. The lighting, combined with soft furnishings’ wood-vein materials of different shades, further enriches the visual layers in the space. The wood-vein tiles tactfully configured at slanted angles, together with the arrangement of green potted plants, get to break spatial invariability, adding a sense of fun to the otherwise vertical and horizontal space.

Sustainability

The second-floor loft is a versatile Japanese-style room that serves multiple purposes. It's perfect for relaxing, enjoying tea, dining, and even working out! The unique collage of wood materials not only adds decoration but also showcases its beauty. With smart recessed lighting on the vaulted side, you can easily create different vibes to suit any occasion. In just seconds, this office space can transform into a party room!

By prioritising eco-friendly materials, eliminating unnecessary decorations and partitions, and maximising natural light, the space becomes more flexible and healthier. This optimisation enhances the overall quality of the room.
