Team

Relink Architects was founded in Sydney in 2015. We believe that design can change lives, and we are passionate about creating more interesting spaces. Through our lovable designs, we constantly seek ways to coexist with the environment, presenting a design concept that interprets the natural experience of the East. Our architectural and interior design projects cover a wide range of fields, including cultural buildings, independent residential buildings, high-end private residences, commercial interior design, office spaces, cultural and tourism guesthouses, and art installations. We always uphold the concept of maintaining a natural harmony between people and the environment, allowing people to fully experience the flow of space.

Project Brief

The vintage style comes with a unique cultural connotation, full of charm. The restaurant as a whole is dignified and elegant, offering a delightful respite for modern urbanites seeking relaxation. Custom-made decorative chandeliers create a romantic and warm ambiance with soft and bright lighting.

Different spaces carry different forms and meanings, with the design core focusing on the fusion of aesthetic art and practical functionality. The warm tones soak in the breath of time, each frame exuding a cinematic texture rich with stories.

Project Innovation/Need

Mirrors on the walls, and stylish lighting fixtures—simple and natural methods render an Eastern ambiance. Delicate materials cleverly paired, minimalist tables and chairs add a touch of traditional charm to the elegant space, whether dining or lounging, one can feel the natural freshness.

In space handling, simplicity is emphasized. Classic green retro folding doors, while meeting functional needs, arrange space scale reasonably, expanding spatial perception. Pushing open the doors feels like traversing time and space, guiding diners to appreciate the charm of slow living and artistic style, and creating a multi-dimensional space for artistic sensory experiences and interactive communication.

Design Challenge

How to better integrate Asian culture into the local environment was a key consideration at the beginning of our design process. By uniquely displaying poetry on the walls, we not only convey the essence of cultural heritage but also reflect contemporary fashion. This is more than just a design style; it is a fusion of culture and life. In this space, people can experience the essence of traditional Chinese culture seamlessly combined with modern art, creating a dining environment full of charm and personality.

Sustainability

Promoting sustainability in interior design is essential. First, prioritizing the use of more local materials, such as tiles, artistic paint, and glass, not only reduces carbon emissions from transportation but also supports the local economy. At the same time, making extensive use of recyclable materials not only lowers costs but also reduces resource waste. The design should maximize the use of natural light, reducing reliance on artificial lighting; large areas of glass brick on the façade can help save energy. Additionally, choosing environmentally friendly paints prevents harmful chemicals from polluting the environment. Using recycled or other eco-friendly products not only reduces waste but also creates unique decorative effects. Through these measures, the restaurant's design will significantly lower its carbon footprint, achieving both economic and environmental sustainability.
