Project Brief

Conventional down jackets make concessions on lightness and style for warmth, but this series finds equilibrium, catering to consumers' desire for a down jacket that is warm, light, and chic.
Departing from the typical double-layered construction, this series features a single-sided down-filled design. This change not only reduces the overall weight of the down jacket but also improves breathability. Moreover, the fusion of an H-type and a 3D cocoon shape is further enhanced with meticulous structural lines and details for a proper fit, creating a slender and figure-flattering effect.

Project Innovation/Need

This down jacket series seamlessly merges functionality and style through a single-sided down-filled design and a combination of multiple clothing patterns. The series simplifies the conventional structure of down jackets into a single-sided down-filled design that performs the dual tasks of inner and outer layers. This not only prevents the displacement and escape of down feathers but also ensures an almost weightless sensation for utmost comfort.
Based on meticulous studies of human anatomy, the design team has incorporated various clothing patterns in the down jacket. The front adopts an H-type design that visually slims the figure, and the back features a 3D cocoon shape that gradually tapers downwards, thus fitting diverse body types. This clever construction imparts a heightened 3D effect and envelops the wearer in a reassuring embrace.

Design Challenge

The paramount challenge in this design was to ensure warmth while providing a lightweight wearing experience, allowing users to enjoy unfettered movement in winter.
To this end, this series incorporates a single-sided down-filled design that efficiently locks in heat and defies the conventional bulk associated with down. It also prevents the displacement and escape of down feathers, enhancing user comfort and unrestrained movement.
The tailoring strictly adheres to ergonomic principles. The back sleeves feature a 3D darting design that conforms to the arm contours. Moreover, the elbows can bend freely up to about 150 degrees for a more comfortable and natural fit. More thoughtfully, the women's knee-length down jacket is designed with a double-ended zipper, eliminating any potential hindrance during walks or when seated.

Sustainability

The synergy of the single-sided down-filled design and the down-proof fabric prevents the displacement and escape of down feathers, thereby prolonging the lifespan of the down jacket. This means users won't need to replace their down jackets as often, effectively reducing the consumption of raw materials.
