Project Overview

The company's business is network information security and cloud computing. The design team combined the company's signature services with its values of "Focus on Leadership and Innovation" to create a circuit board impression in key spaces, such as the ceiling of the lobby and the manager's office cubicle. To shape an impressive visual effect, the ceiling PCB pattern has a flowing luminous effect. The constant flow of light from left to right symbolizes the company's commitment to moving forward with the latest technology, and it also means that all employees can follow the direction of the guideline, hence the name of the project "Toward".
The curves in the interior reverse the usual image of straight lines in technology companies. The undulating curve modifies the sharpness of the beams and columns, and the gentle look makes the electronics industry less alienated. The flowing effect of the circuit boards expresses the concept of "leadership", and by subverting the image of a technology company, it achieves the effect of "innovation". The design team perfectly visualized the values and concepts of the company in this project.

Project Brief

Stepping on the gray carpeted floor, light and shadow of different shades are reflected underfoot. From the center of the lobby, a large, white, and bright wall spreads a professional and neat image. The long, curved, streamlined wall with a glossy, mirrored belt is the first impression, while the irregular curves of the floor define the sitting area in gray and wood. The varied curves reshape the image of the workplace as square and formal. The core of the circuit boards emits bright light, while the tracks extending from left to right deliver light points without interruption. Then, indirect lighting creates a long strip of light that extends along the streamline, leading people to head to the interior. The window to the outside view is reserved for staff who enter the office every day. Plants that symbolize the greenery of the logo adorn the sitting area, creating a relaxing corner where stress can be relaxed. The texture of the office makes the working mood more bright.

Project Innovation/Need

● Artificial planting creates a relaxing atmosphere.
The CASEWELL company logo and representative colors are everywhere in the space. The simulated plants echoing the logo eliminate the need for regular pruning, adding a warm and relaxing atmosphere to the pantry and sitting area. The ironwork screen in the center hangs several pendant plants, while the huge three-dimensional A-shaped planting display cabinet on the wall of the corridor opposite the sofa is large and beautiful. Staff can relieve their stress and change their moods in the space decorated with greenery, and it also shows the company's image when receiving visitors.

●Mirror and curves intertwine to shape an innovative future
In addition to the large C-shaped logo on the wall, the lobby is characterized by curves. From the wavy background wall, semi-circular countertops, and tables, rounded low sofas to different floor tiles, the lobby is divided into curves. In particular, a long-mirrored belt is embedded in the wall along the streamline, intertwined with the flowing light points of the chip circuit pattern on the ceiling to create a futuristic sense of the technology industry.

Design Challenge

The biggest challenge was the main wall in the lobby. Its curved surface is a cumbersome process that hides two doors connected to the conference room. The lobby flooring is redone twice from the original to the tiled floor due to quality issues with the manufacturer. For the design team, it was the biggest challenge to complete the project before the owner's move-in date.
In addition, the fire exhaust equipment was originally located on the wall between the units. The lobby spans three units, and it was only during the construction process that it was realized that the smoke plenums were not compatible with the lighting fixtures on the ceiling. Fortunately, after several communications with the Fire Department to measure the airflow, a new module is installed in the back of the conference room as a solution.

Sustainability

With the global net-zero carbon emission target, ESG has become an important issue for enterprises. To achieve this, the design team installed energy-saving labeled lighting fixtures, such as interior panel lights and ceiling lights. These energy-saving options are not as bright as ordinary lights but are more energy-efficient and energy-saving. Furthermore, eco-friendly interior design should consider waste management and avoid material wastage. The project maintains the original ceiling in the main office area, with the wiring neatly piped and painted in dark colors. The minimized decoration of the ceiling reduces the consumption of resources.
Improving indoor air quality is also a priority. Good ventilation not only reduces the air-conditioning load but also takes care of the health and spirit of the staff. The design team extended the building's pre-installed fresh air ducts at the entrances to the entire large office area. The system automatically changes the air when the carbon dioxide level is too high, and the fresh air will refresh the staff's mood when they are drowsy in the afternoon.
