Project Overview

Drawing inspiration from a Parisian sunrise, this design creates a dreamy and luminous ambiance. Muted tones and ample natural light enhance the ethereal atmosphere. Each area exudes unique character, seamlessly blending styles and curated furnishings. This luxurious residence allows homeowners to indulge in their passions for wine, cuisine, and jewelry, while emanating an elegant charm.

Elegant hues and textures shape the mansion, with indirect lighting and softly curved lines softening visual structures. Furniture placement harmonizes with ceiling designs, light colors, and natural wood creating a warm ambiance, and metallic elements in titanium and antique copper providing a touch of sophistication.

In this design, the uniqueness of each area is emphasized and tied together through a unifying design language. Boutique furniture is carefully selected, and the interests of the owners are integrated into each design detail, allowing for an elegant and graceful living experience.

Project Brief

The secondary living room distinguishes public and private areas, promoting family unity through intersecting routes. Sliding doors and spatial axes allow rooms to either stand alone or connect, offering privacy and freedom within diverse activity patterns. The passageway presents a streetscape view through a large arched window, while the domed ceiling heightens space and enhances light refraction, resulting in a soft, inviting atmosphere. The areas between the dining room, the western kitchen, and the living room are defined by double longitudinal axes, which visually enlarge the space for various activities. A dish display room is designed specifically, showcasing dishes in pull-out drawers and inspiring appreciation for dining etiquette.

Biomimicry extends to every detail, with transparent leaf-shaped and water droplet lighting fixtures complementing plant-themed abstract wall art. Textured stone creates picturesque scenes, and extravagant leaf-shaped chandeliers accentuate beautifully designed flower-painted walls. The bedrooms present distinctive styles through abstract wallpapers, feather textures, and gray tones with curved lines, creating a harmonious yet unique atmosphere. Spacious and stylish bathrooms feature sleek silver lines and reflective spherical light fixtures, with Norman-style shutters allowing ample natural light. Walk-in closets resemble boutique clothing stores, making every visit feel like a boutique shopping trip.

Project Innovation/Need

The configuration of sliding doors and the spatial axis allows the living and dining rooms, three suites, and the viewing room to be both independently separated and interconnected. Depending on different activity patterns, the design ensures freedom without constraint, yet maintaining privacy. This thoughtful arrangement provides peace of mind when any of the residents wish to invite friends over for gatherings, as privacy can be maintained without concern.

A display area specifically designed for bowls and plates is incorporated, where everyday utensils create an aesthetic exhibition. This innovation has sparked interest amongst numerous guests, prompting them to designate space in their homes for dishware display. The reinterpretation of space has had an unexpected positive impact, prompting a greater appreciation for dining etiquette and aesthetics when it comes to tableware.

Each piece of home decor and selected item has been carefully chosen. The bedroom design is creative and unique, with each of the three main bedrooms showcasing a distinctive style. Whether it's the modern feel created by abstract wallpaper, the light and elegant style displayed by feather textures, or the noble elegance built by the grey tones and curved lines, all three spaces connect a common design language through similar tones and distinctive textures. This coherence ensures the entire spatial tone is both unique and harmonious, without any sense of discord.

Design Challenge

Through a fluid ceiling design, the initially low ceiling structure of the western-style kitchen area is counterbalanced, thereby crafting a European-style glass kitchen space. For the lady of the house, a dedicated dish display room is created, where dishes are presented through pull-out drawers. Paired with a wine cellar, this enables a showcase of culinary feasts that are rich in taste and style.

Efficient spatial planning yielded a spacious master suite and two guest suites, interconnected by a family media room. Unnecessary corridors were eliminated, optimizing space utilization. Despite lower kitchen ceilings due to structural beams, the luminous ceiling design evoked a European glasshouse ambiance. Bathroom windows featured strategically placed Norman-style shutters for privacy and ample natural light.

Sustainability

The designer skillfully integrates natural elements into the design by prioritizing the sky's light as a defining feature. This is achieved through the strategic enlargement of windows, inviting ample natural light to flood the space. Utilizing a white color scheme with a glossy finish, the designer adeptly manipulates the path of light, encouraging its natural refraction for an enhanced ambiance. Removing spatial barriers not only widens sightlines but also encourages the seamless circulation of both air and light within the environment. This thoughtful approach not only creates a visually open space but also infuses it with a sense of brightness and fluidity, elevating the overall experience of the area.
