Airwheel SE3S electric smart suitcase departs from conventional suitcase's single-function nature by seamlessly integrating a portable mobile power module. This innovation allows the suitcase to serve as a personal mobility device, thereby enhancing user mobility and efficiency in public settings. Featuring a side-opening storage design, mobile charging capability, and an exclusive smart app, the suitcase offers a convenient and effective travel solution, effectively addressing the contemporary demand for short-distance mobility.

Project Brief

To address the challenge of the "last three kilometres" encountered by people in both travel and daily activities and to extend the reach of their daily routine, the product integrates the conventional suitcase's storage capability with an innovative ride-and-go design. This design ensures that the suitcase remains easy to drag around while offering a solution to mobility challenges. It also incorporates mobile charging functionality, allowing users to enjoy multiple conveniences from a single product.

Project Innovation/Need

The electric smart ride-and-go suitcase represents a significant innovation by seamlessly integrating traditional storage features with cutting-edge mobility design. This revolutionary approach maintains the ease of carrying a typical suitcase while incorporating the capability to reach moving speeds of up to 13 km/h. This effectively addresses the challenge of physical exertion during the "last three kilometres" of travel. The suitcase is equipped with two sets of USB charging ports, providing reliable charging functionality and eliminating concerns about power availability for users. It truly realizes multi-purpose use and significantly reduces the user's burden of travelling. With volume within the 20-inch boarding box standard, the suitcase eliminates the need for luggage check-in, offering convenience and efficiency.
The maximum telescopic length of the electric control handle is 180mm, ensuring driving stability and minimizing the risk of tipping; particularly suitable for bustling outdoor environments such as airports and railway stations. The suitcase features 5.5-inch vacuum foam tyres and a patented frame crafted from 6-series high-strength aluminium alloy, allowing a load capacity of up to 110kg, ensuring adaptability to various road conditions and user requirements. The TSA customs lock enhances security during travel, preventing unauthorized access. The product design features a central circular animation logo with technological sense and LED lighting, showcasing a visually striking, vibrant, technologically advanced product styling.

Design Challenge

The primary design challenge for this product lies in facilitating user onboarding. To tackle this, the design team has prioritized operational simplicity. By incorporating turnbuckles on the left and right sides of the handle, corresponding to forward and brake functions, the design allows for intuitive control of both forward and backward movements. This design approach aims to simplify the use complexity, showcasing the brand's commitment to user-centric design. Additionally, the product features a proprietary intelligent app offering cruise control, Bluetooth disconnection alerts, search functionality, and customizable route programming, thereby establishing a comprehensive service ecosystem.

Sustainability

This innovative product amalgamates storage, mobility, charging, and other functionalities, thereby reducing the necessity for multiple independent products and effectively mitigating excessive resource consumption and environmental impact. Additionally, its modular plug-and-play lithium battery design facilitates easy disassembly and reassembly without the need for tools, ensuring smooth recyclability at the end of its lifespan. This approach supports sustainable resource recycling and aligns with the principles of environmental conservation.
