Project Overview

A co-working collaboration between the Deague Group and The Commons; Central House was designed to be a sophisticated and exclusive co-working office space that offers unique amenities to members, with an executive feel.

Central House Toorak is the second location designed by Siren Design for the thriving co-working company and is a luxury co-working office that is inspired by a boutique hotel. Aimed at professionals from various industries, Central House has high-end amenities that cater to both business days and after-hour events. There are opportunities for independent quiet work, small business meetings, large conferences, and forums or company parties, the fit-out is versatile.

Central House is so much more than an office space, it is a space that fosters and promotes community, bringing people together through strategic space planning and a range of offerings throughout the space.
The design supports independent and team workspaces but also allows individuals to break away into quiet rooms, booths, break-out areas, lounges, or even have a hit of golf in the golf simulator room. The high-end design also oozes a warm, welcoming, and highly social atmosphere.

Project Brief

The project brief was to create a high-end, executive co-working space that offers members a range of amenities. Spanning over two levels, Central House Toorak was to feature high-quality finishes and detailing, with considered design solutions that meet the member's practical needs.

The spaces are available to members and their external visitors, where they are able to use the communal spaces, breakout, and various styles of meeting and training rooms. The office zones feature various-sized offices, open-plan dedicated desks, break-out, and meeting spaces on offer. Along with a wellness space, library, quiet rooms, and meeting booths.

Project Innovation/Need

The conceptual ideation was based on the notion of 'refined'; Central House in Toorak is a true definition of its surroundings - a high level of sophistication, a sense of exclusivity, and a heightened degree of richness and diversity.
It is a focus on refined details and distinct textures to provide an overall inspiring, elegant experience that forms a backdrop for innovation, collaboration, and well-being.

The devil is in the details.

The project's design was based on generating new and unique concepts that would be offered by Central House exclusively and be a separating factor from other shared office spaces, whilst creating connections to our previous design for Central House South Melbourne.

The materiality promotes the luxury aesthetic. Offerings such as the NeuroPODs, wellness space, quiet library space, and Golf Simulator spaces are elements that visitors and members associate with Central House and the brand.

Design Challenge

The space planning of Central House Toorak is highly considered the necessity for private and focused spaces, balanced with purposefully planned journeys that promote interaction and socializing across all members of the Central House, enhancing cross connections and collaborations between the users of the space.
Creating interconnection and flow between the levels was achieved through a new and elegant spiral staircase and vast void opening.

Sustainability

Sustainable products and finishes have been specified throughout the project.

Health and wellness in the workplace was also a priority in the design of Central House Toorak. The facility offers numerous amenities that contribute to the members’ personal health including vast outdoor spaces, wellness spaces, and a golf simulator for mental and physical stress release, along with weekly community events such as meditation and yoga.
