Project Brief

The artistic fusion of Kate Nixon and Quercus & Co. redefines interior decor with a signature collection of elegant, eco-friendly printed wallpapers and linen. This collaboration seamlessly blends Kate’s award-winning design sensibility with Adam Jones’ skillful hand-drawn and hand-painted techniques, creating designs that are both timeless and contemporary.
Inspired by a love of nature and nostalgia, favorite weaves, prints, and repeats have been artfully interpreted by Adam’s artist's hand into intricate, layered brush strokes and markings, individually unique and collectively characterful.
Using premium linen textiles and eco-friendly inks, the collection promises quality and sustainability. Printed-to-order with the latest digital technology, every item ensures minimal waste and maximum performance, making it an exciting and responsible choice for home décor enthusiasts.

Project Innovation/Need

The collaboration brings a unique atheistic to the market by combining traditional hand-drawn techniques with cutting-edge digital printing technology. This blend of craftsmanship and modernity ensures high-quality, bespoke designs that are both unique and widely accessible with inimitable tone, texture, warmth, and whimsy.

Design Challenge

The primary design challenge was to merge traditional mark-making techniques with modern digital technology and a transitional design aesthetic while ensuring the designs resonated with a wide range of architectural and interior styles and sensibilities. Achieving the elusive balance between creative vision and practical application was key to the project's success.

Sustainability

Our approach to sustainability includes using premium linen textiles and eco-friendly inks, ensuring durability and environmental responsibility. The printed-to-order model minimizes waste and oversupply, as only the necessary materials and inks are used. This method supports a fast dispatch process while maintaining a lower carbon footprint and promoting economic sustainability.




This award celebrates creative and innovative design for either a component or overall product. Consideration given to aspects that relate to human usage, aesthetics, selection of components and materials, and the resolution of assembly, manufacturing and the overall function.
