Project Overview
The Green City Shishan Yilu project is a scarce low-density residential project located in the core luxury residential area of Shishan. The project is designed with modern Eastern aesthetics as its design concept, incorporating elements of Su-style gardens. Through a layered and winding garden design, it showcases an elegant cultural atmosphere.
In terms of architecture, it uses large areas of stone, aluminium panels, glass and other materials to create a modern minimalist style with a wide surface and high window-to-floor ratio. At the same time, it incorporates design elements such as Oriental eaves, presenting a light and dynamic architectural beauty. This unique architectural style and high aesthetic standards make Greentown Yilu stand out in the region. As a low-density residential area on Shishan Road that has been out of supply for many years, the scarcity and uniqueness of Greentown Yilu are particularly prominent. The project covers an area of approximately 17800 square meters with a plot ratio of 1.02, which is the lowest plot ratio among the land parcels sold in Shishan in the past two years. This makes the project highly valuable in the region.

Project Brief
In the design, we inherited the aesthetic genes of Greentown's "modern form, Eastern flavour" and perfectly combined modern elements with Eastern aesthetics. In order to embody this aesthetic concept, we specifically drew inspiration from the highest level of Eastern classical architecture, the double eave and gable roof forms of the Forbidden City, and recreated them through modern techniques to bring new vitality to traditional elements in modern spaces.
Inside the sales office, we have adopted a horizontally stretched line design, which not only echoes the traditional Suzhou architecture's upturned eaves but also enhances the openness and fluidity of the space. At the same time, we pay special attention to the design of the north and south facades. Through clever layout and window opening, we ensure good natural lighting and ventilation indoors, while also creating a unique spatial rhythm and visual effect.
In terms of material selection, we have carefully selected materials with Eastern charm, such as bamboo, wood, stone, etc. These materials not only reflect the beauty of nature but also echo the materials in traditional Suzhou architecture. At the same time, we cleverly incorporate modern materials such as glass, metal, etc. into the design, creating a contrast and fusion between traditional and modern materials, and creating a unique spatial atmosphere.
Project Need
The innovation of the Suzhou Greentown Shishan Yilu project lies in its clever integration of traditional Suzhou street and alley patterns with modern design concepts. By drawing inspiration from the double eave and gable roof shapes of the Forbidden City, as well as horizontal stretching lines, it creates a unique space that inherits both Eastern classical charm and modern aesthetic characteristics, achieving innovative interpretation of Eastern aesthetics in modern architecture.
Design Challenge
The design challenge of the Suzhou Greentown Shishan Yilu project lies in how to creatively integrate modern design concepts while respecting the traditional architectural style and aesthetics of Suzhou, ensuring that the design not only retains classical charm but also meets modern living needs, while maintaining a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics of the space.
