Project Brief

This project focuses on designing a sophisticated urban apartment, approximately 100 square meters, envisioned as a truly livable showflat for future buyers. Our goal is to craft an inviting atmosphere that blends modern aesthetics with practical living, showcasing the potential for comfortable, everyday life rather than just a display.

The layout strategically incorporates one luxurious master suite as a private retreat, a comfortable guest bedroom highlighting versatility, and a dedicated study room for work or personal pursuits. A well-appointed common toilet and seamlessly integrated living and dining areas will foster connection and flow. This design ensures potential buyers can genuinely envision themselves living in and enjoying this space, making it a highly desirable and functional home.

Project Innovation/Need

Innovation will focus on maximising every square meter through intelligent space planning, integrated smart home technology for seamless daily convenience, and a wellness-centric design approach incorporating optimised natural light and ventilation. This showflat will demonstrate a forward-thinking urban lifestyle, proving that compact living can be both luxurious and highly efficient, directly meeting the demand for homes that are as practical as they are beautiful.

Design Challenge

The primary design challenge lies in orchestrating a seamless fusion of aspirational aesthetics with uncompromising livability within the confines of 100 square meters. As a demo showflat, the design must not only captivate potential buyers with its modern European elegance but also robustly demonstrate practical, comfortable daily living—a significant departure from often impractical display-only units.

Balancing "show" with "home": Achieving a high-end, luxurious finish suitable for a showflat, while ensuring all materials, fixtures, and layouts are durable, easy to maintain, and genuinely conducive to everyday life.

Creating a lasting impression: Crafting a memorable experience that highlights innovative spatial solutions and integrated smart features, convincing buyers of the apartment's superior quality and functional ingenuity as a true home.

Sustainability

Resource-Efficient Materials: Prioritising the use of low-VOC paints and finishes, responsibly sourced timber (FSC certified), and durable, long-lasting materials to reduce the need for frequent replacements and improve indoor air quality.

Energy and Water Conservation: Implementing energy-efficient LED lighting, high-performance appliances, and smart home systems for optimised energy consumption. Water-saving fixtures, such as low-flow toilets and faucets, will be specified to reduce water usage without compromising comfort.

Enhanced Indoor Environmental Quality: Maximising natural daylight penetration and promoting cross-ventilation to reduce reliance on artificial lighting and air conditioning, contributing to a healthier and more comfortable living environment.
