This Portable Folding Table and Stool features an innovative all-in-one design that integrates one table and two stools into a single compact unit for easy storage. Its tool-free, quick-assembly system allows it to seamlessly adapt to various scenarios such as camping, picnics, and home use. The uniquely designed lantern-shaped stools incorporate a three-mode LED lighting system (warm light/ambient breathing light/SOS signal), meeting needs for nighttime illumination, atmosphere enhancement, and alert signalling—achieving a balance of aesthetics and practical functionality.

Project Brief

With the growing popularity of outdoor leisure activities, demand for portable, space-saving furniture has surged. Addressing common issues of traditional outdoor furniture—bulky size and inconvenient storage—the product innovatively integrates one table and two stools into a single compact unit. It maximises spatial efficiency and breaks through usage limitations, making it ideal for a wide range of activities like camping and picnics and settings such as gardens and small patios.

Project Innovation/Need

Integrated Table and Stool: Unlike traditional furniture requiring separate storage, the design combines one table and two stools into one rectangular unit, enhancing spatial efficiency for storage and transportation and portability for outdoor use.

Lantern-Shaped Stool: When unfolded, the stool transforms into a vivid lantern-like form. Its translucent structure makes it look like a refined artifact, challenging the conventional look of outdoor furniture. The built-in lighting module supports three modes—warm light, ambient breathing light, and SOS signal—blending decorative appeal with practical functionality.

Design Challenge

Traditional outdoor furniture often fail to balance portability and stability—lightweight designs may lack structural strength, while heavyweight ones tend to be bulky. The product overcomes the problem through an innovative structure and high-performance materials. Reinforced PP and aluminium alloy components offer a balance of lightness and strength, with each stool supporting up to 260 kg.

The nested structure allows the stools and table to pack neatly into a compact unit, significantly optimising spatial efficiency for storage and transportation. A precisely engineered, self-locking folding mechanism enables quick assembly and disassembly and compact storage, achieving an optimal balance of portability and stability.

Sustainability

With sustainability as its guiding principle, the product establishes a comprehensive eco-system covering its full life cycle. It is made from non-toxic, recyclable PE/PP plastics and aluminium alloy, safeguarding user health while minimising environmental impact from the source.

These materials also offer excellent durability and weather resistance, extending product lifespan and reducing the need for replacement. The product is suitable for both indoor and outdoor reuse, enhancing overall resource efficiency. At the end-of-life stage, materials can be sorted and recycled, contributing to a sustainable closed-loop system.
