Project Overview

The winterized condensate atomizer is an innovative system that can also be used for evaporative cooling of air conditioning units, providing significant energy savings. During winter operation, frost protection requires only 6–8 watts of energy, making it an exceptionally energy-efficient solution. Since 2023, I have been actively involved in this field and have gained extensive experience in the distribution and installation of summer versions, as well as in identifying all their known faults. These faults have been completely eliminated in the new development, resulting in a more reliable system with a longer lifespan that remains fully operational even under extreme weather conditions.

Project Brief

The winterised condensate atomiser offers a unique year-round solution for managing condensate from air conditioning systems. It is not only frost-proof and highly energy-efficient but also delivers measurable benefits to the urban environment. During operation, the system transforms condensate into a fine mist – eliminating drips, puddles, and water discharge.

The microscopic water droplets capture airborne particulate matter, improving urban air quality and creating a refreshing effect in the immediate surroundings. They also help reduce the surrounding air temperature, contributing to a more pleasant microclimate.

The device can also be optionally used for evaporative cooling, providing a visually appealing effect while further enhancing its positive impact on the atmosphere through dust suppression and environmental cooling. Since 2023, I have gained extensive experience in the distribution and installation of summer-only versions, giving me a deep understanding of their limitations – all of which have been completely resolved in this new design.

Its frost-protection requires only 6–8 watts, making it exceptionally energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. The result is a modern, sustainable, and visually striking system that redefines condensate management for air conditioning units.

Project Innovation/Need

This innovation creates an entirely new category: the world’s first winterized condensate atomizer, capable of operating year-round – even in freezing conditions.
Since 2023, I have been distributing and installing summer-only versions, gaining first-hand knowledge of all their shortcomings – every one of which has been eliminated in this design. No more dripping water, puddles, or freezing.

The system offers additional functions such as reducing air pollution, improving the microclimate, and effectively capturing airborne particulate matter. Its frost-protection requires only 6–8 watts, making it exceptionally energy-efficient.

The system has been tested at –15 °C for one week, and the results were impressive even to me: the water did not freeze, and the atomiser nozzle maintained a temperature of 40 °C.

This is a market-first solution that combines visual appeal, practicality, and environmental benefits. It holds enormous sales potential for Australia and strong prospects for global markets.

There is significant development potential: larger models with enhanced features and more striking designs could be produced, setting an entirely new trend in the climate control sector.

Design Challenge

The main challenge was to create an energy-efficient condensate atomiser that can be easily installed on both existing and new air-conditioning units, operates frost-free down to –15 °C, and runs quietly. The goal was to deliver a solution that is better and more practical than the currently available systems, while remaining fully upgradable to ensure long-term market relevance. The result is a highly versatile, low-maintenance system with significant profit potential for installers and distributors.

Sustainability

The system is exceptionally energy-efficient, requiring only 6–8 watts for frost protection, significantly reducing operating costs and carbon footprint. It is compatible with both existing and new air conditioning units, eliminating the need for unnecessary equipment replacement and reducing waste. Built from durable materials with a long service life, it minimises the need for frequent maintenance and remanufacturing. Optionally, it can lower air temperature, improve the microclimate, and capture airborne dust particles, actively contributing to improved urban air quality.
