Project Overview
This down jacket, centered around the idea of ‘movable duvet’, features a 3D anti-down-leakage system to effectively prevent the down inside from coming out during prolonged wear. Its silver-ion heat-retaining lining efficiently maintains dynamic thermal balance in -15°C-5°C environments. Moreover, an ergonomic tailored silhouette significantly enhances freedom of movement. The product, by virtue of its ultra-light weight and exceptional heat retention, adapts well to diverse winter climates and multiple scenarios.

Project Brief
China experiences a significant temperature difference between its northern and southern regions during winter; traditional down jackets usually frustrate users due to excessive bulkiness, restricted movement, frequent down leakage, and poor adaptability to indoor-outdoor shifts.
To address that, the design team has developed a lightweight long down jacket. Taking ‘movable duvet’ as the core idea, the product integrates a 3D anti-down-leakage system, a silver-ion heat-retaining lining, and an ergonomic tailored silhouette to improve heat retention, wearing comfort, and multi-scenario adaptability, redefining outdoor cold-weather gear as comfortable everyday apparel.
Project Innovation/Need
3D Anti-Down-Leakage System: The 50D ultra-fine polyester fabric as the outer layer, coupled with the high-density down-proof inner layer and advanced 3D stitching technology, effectively prevents down from coming out, achieving a down leakage rate lower than the industry average of 8%.
Dynamic Thermal Balance: The silver-ion heat-retaining lining—commonly used in professional mountaineering gear—boasts a far-infrared emissivity of 0.90, which can efficiently absorb and reflect the body’s infrared heat to create a dynamic heat-retaining layer. This enables consistent comfort during indoor-outdoor shifts, avoiding excessive heat or sudden chills.
Ergonomic Tailored Silhouette: The precisely engineered front panel (with a 165.5° shoulder slope) and rear panel (with a 171.5° shoulder slope), complemented by an optimised armhole structure, ensure a perfect fit during upper-body movement. This addresses the hassle of exposed wrists when raising arms, common in traditional long down jackets, significantly enhancing freedom of movement.
Design Challenge
The challenge was how to balance exceptional heat retention and a lightweight in a long down jacket. To meet performance requirements across temperatures ranging from -15°C to 5°C while avoiding excessive bulkiness, this product employs the 650+ FP duck down (trapping more air for a superior warmth-to-weight ratio) and the 73g/m² 50D ultra-fine polyester fabric (dense, wear-resistant, and lightweight). Through an optimised material combination, it achieves exceptional heat retention and keeps its weight at just 1.25kg; its size can be reduced by 1/3 after compression, greatly improving portability.
Sustainability
This durable down jacket drives the apparel industry toward a sustainable future. The application of a 3D anti-down-leakage system and the wear-resistant fabric dramatically extends the product’s service life, eliminating premature disposal due to performance degradation; a timeless silhouette effectively reduces waste associated with ever-changing fashion trends, helping to alleviate the environmental impact of fast fashion. Moreover, the jacket, adaptable to a wide temperature range (-15°C to 5°C), minimises redundant purchases owing to seasonal changes or travel to different regions, thereby decreasing resource consumption and promoting the transition to a low-carbon lifestyle of ‘one jacket for all winter’.
