Project Brief
In North American households, Apple devices are widely used. User expectations for door locks have evolved from basic security to safety, privacy, and multi-device linkage. The smart door lock is fully compatible with Apple HomeKit. It offers 9 unlocking methods, including fingerprint recognition, NFC unlocking, and Siri voice commands and supports automatically unlocking the door and turning on the lights upon arrival or switching off all home appliances and locking the door when leaving, delivering a truly convenient, safe entry experience.
Project Innovation/Need
High Compatibility: The smart door lock is fully compatible with Apple HomeKit, enabling seamless linkage with Apple devices such as iPhone and Apple Watch.
Seamless Scene Linkage: The lock automatically unlocks and locks the door, turns on and off lights, air conditioning, and other home appliances upon arrival or leaving, eliminating tedious manual operations and delivering a truly convenient and smooth smart home experience.
9 Unlocking Methods: The lock offers 9 unlocking methods, including Apple HomeKit control, Siri voice commands, access via Apple Watch, APP Wi-Fi remote control, fingerprint recognition (0.3-second response), NFC unlocking, Alexa and Google Home voice unlocking, passcode entry, and physical key entry, suitable for various scenarios and user habits.
New Key Experience: With Apple Home Key, your iPhone or Apple Watch becomes your key, making entry convenient and secure—turning every unlock into a seamless, high-tech experience.
Comprehensive Protection: Unlocking data is locally encrypted and transmitted via peer-to-peer connection without uploading to the cloud, preventing data leaks at the source and providing comprehensive protection for household security.
Design Challenge
A major challenge lies in ensuring that the HomeKit Smart Door Lock blends seamlessly into ever-changing home interior styles rather than standing out as an out-of-place “tech gadget.” The design draws inspiration from a circular track, blending straight lines with gentle curves to balance a sense of order with flowing elegance. It features a low-saturation obsidian black metallic finish and user-friendly soft light, conveying a stable and premium visual impression. The lock, with a minimalist yet neutral aesthetic, seamlessly blends into a variety of home interiors and elevates the overall style of the space.
Sustainability
The lock’s casing is made of aluminum alloy, the panel of tempered glass, and the lock cylinder of stainless steel, all fully recyclable to support material reuse. It uses electrophoretic coating and water-based paints to reduce organic solvent emissions during production, lessening environmental impact. Its modular design allows easy maintenance and functional upgrades, extending product lifespan. Through material selection, eco-friendly processes, and maintainable design, the HomeKit Smart Door Lock embodies a sustainable design philosophy.
