Winners of the prestigious 2014 London Design Awards were today announced by design100 Founder & CEO, Mark Bergin at The Old Truman Brewery, London.
In addition to the category winners, the coveted Best of awards were announced with the accolades as follows: Design Champion – British Design Council, Best Start-up – Arckit, Best Studio less than 5 – Smartstreets Ltd, Best Studio 5 – 20 Priestmangoode and Best Studio 20+ - SHH.
''The calibre of nominations in this, our first London program, has been outstanding with participation from world renowned design studios and brands. Across 30 categories we’ve awarded 57 winners” said Mr Bergin. With a focus on the design economy, Mr Bergin remarked “a primary goal of the awards is to also provide recognition to the commissioners, who recognise that design is the premise of accelerating business and have the courage to honour their convictions by commissioning new design projects. We’re proud to acknowledge their important role in the design equation."

Mr Bergin thanked and commended Advisory Panel members for their ongoing support as ambassadors and curators in addition to their judging role.
The London Design Awards form part of the global [city] design awards which in 2014 incorporated New York, Sydney, Melbourne and London. Established in 2010 by design100 with the Melbourne Design Awards, the program in 2015 has grown to some 7 cities with New York, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Sydney currently scheduled.
