“Again London lives up to the
Design Capital standard, this year’s award winners show a deep understanding of
how to leverage the design economy. London has a great reputation as an
economic powerhouse, the winners of the 2015 London Design Awards show that
reputation is deeply connected to the design courage on display across the
group of 57 category winners.
We live in an age where
technology is disrupting the status quo; design is the fast track for society
to harness disruption, reconnecting the community, markets and transforming the
economy.
There is no way a single
statement can summarise the diversity of projects, innovation and disruption
covered throughout the awards – the only recommendation I have is attend the
summit, immerse yourself with the inside stories and learn how others are
creating award winning projects” said Mr Bergin

About design100
design100's mission is to celebrate the courage of
those who commission design and those who create it. design100 provides a
collaborative platform of award programs across three continents, supported by
the world’s most creative minds and organisations. It prides itself on
accelerating the transformation to a design-led marketplace; one that
understands that tomorrow is the result of yesterday’s courage.
Each design100 award program acknowledges that we live in a marketplace
where the quality of our design choices should be a mix of sound commercial
understanding and courageous, relevant design. design100's unique difference is
to recognise the courage of both those who commission design and those who
create it. Professional development of practitioners has been well catered
for by industry bodies. design100's focus is to also accelerate the development
of those who commission design.
