Project Brief

The designers skillfully incorporated the homeowner's personal style and requirements to craft a living environment that is both cozy and practical in every room. By employing open and O-shaped lines, they were able to seamlessly link all living spaces, resulting in a sense of openness in the communal areas. This approach not only optimizes the utilization of space but also promotes unrestricted movement for children and pets. Additionally, the use of rounded corners on walls and furniture, along with handleless storage cabinets, serves to minimize the risk of accidental collisions, providing a safer environment for both children and pets.

Project Need

Due to the gray color scheme and the inclusion of numerous diagonal lines and rounded shapes, this design creates a rich sense of depth while also introducing variety into an otherwise stable and understated atmosphere. This home is tailored for families with children and pets, with a focus on intricate details that not only elevate the quality of life but also emphasize the significance of caring for one another within the space. The overall result is a home environment that resonates with emotion.

The dwelling is designed with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows intended to illuminate the interior with natural light, enhancing the ambiance and providing a welcoming and comfortable visual environment.

Design Challenge

The layout of the shared living area features an open design and a horizontal sliding door, creating a spacious and versatile living environment while also maximizing space utilization. The zigzag design adds a unique touch and provides an open area for children and pets to move around freely. Moreover, the curved corners of the walls and furniture edges enhance safety for both residents and pets. Additionally, the storage cabinets are equipped with doors to prevent contents from being disturbed by playful cats.

The flooring and furniture in this residence are specifically crafted to make cleaning and maintenance a breeze. This not only lightens the homeowner's daily cleaning burden, but also ensures a clean and hygienic living space, especially beneficial for households with young children and pets.

Sustainability

In this architectural design for a residential space, the focus goes beyond aesthetics and practicality to prioritize environmental protection and sustainable development. Utilizing long-lasting building materials helps to minimize resource consumption by reducing the need for replacements due to material deterioration. The system cabinets are constructed from energy-efficient and eco-friendly materials, enhancing the overall sustainability of the home. Furthermore, the inclusion of expansive floor-to-ceiling windows serves to decrease the dependency on artificial lighting, leading to energy savings and a reduction in carbon emissions.
