Project Overview
The name of the project, "Brown Sugar Coffee", is from the color and function of the space. The designer took the client's favorite "cafe" element and "industrial style" to build a comfortable and comfortable residence.
The cafe-like imagery can be seen in the wood grain and classical trims. The core of the color scheme is wood, complemented by gray paint to create a classic and tasteful atmosphere. The industrial style is seen in the ironwork and the layout. The ironwork serves as laminates and pegs to provide storage, while the orderly layout makes life straightforward. For example, the no-frills ceiling preserves the height of the space, and the storage space is transformed from the irregular space in the corner.

Project Brief
"Spend the whole afternoon with a cup of thick, creamy coffee."
The brown tones of the wood and the gray tones of the paint complement each other to reveal a cozy and casual café style. In the public area, the sunlight falls everywhere and blends with the wood grain to create a refreshing image, just like a cup of thick and creamy coffee topped with the sweet and delicious aroma of brown sugar.
The project reproduces the atmosphere of a café. The café image is presented in the open-plan study room with a sliding glass door to enhance the lighting. The master bedroom has two sides of lighting, one with floor-to-ceiling windows and the other with a couch. The boundary between the interior and exterior is blurred, and the warmth of the wood grain reveals an unadorned elegance.
Project Need
●Elements of a café
In terms of aesthetics, the designer has cleverly arranged wood grain and classical lines in various areas with the café elements that the client desires. At the same time, the designer planned the couch and desk in a well-lit area, making the wooden space fresher and more comfortable under daylight.
●Fusion of industrial style
For functionality, the designer took industrial-style features to create a functional design. For example, the suspended shelves provide storage, the storage room behind the dining table enhances convenience, and the beveled TV wall in the private area makes good use of the irregular space and creates a neat and consistent visual effect.
Design Challenge
The interior design is not only to meet the client's expectations but also to test the designer's understanding of the site conditions and careful observation. 85.9 square meters of space with a three-bedroom layout is difficult to achieve a spacious experience. However, the designer found that the site has excellent natural lighting and re-adjusted the lighting without damaging the structure, then took an open plan to achieve a bright effect. The result is a magnified effect within the constraints of space.
Sustainability
All the building materials have passed the green building materials inspection and are skin-friendly, non-toxic, and create a safe home. It is worth mentioning that system cabinets and solid wood can reduce dust and be easily assembled and disassembled compared to woodwork so that they can be taken away and reused in the future. In addition, the designer used natural solid wood to make the dining table and decorate the walls to avoid formaldehyde residue from wood veneer.
