Project Overview
The workplace of the future requires forward-thinking design and furniture that functions in new and exciting ways, to respond to an ever-evolving workforce with changing expectations and requirements. Eclat x Forme enables the unprecedented ability to align furniture and joinery design and fabrication with the larger interior design, architectural, placemaking, property development, and design ambitions of Eclat and its sub-brands. Each Eclat location throughout Australia regional and metropolitan has its own unique Forme collection. A symbiotic relationship, providing both a showroom for Forme and the hospitality-infused workspace for Eclat; where Forme meets function.

Project Brief
The Hawthorn collection represents neither home nor office, but something both in between and entirely different. A commercially viable and scalable collection of hand-crafted furniture and joinery that provides functionality, modularity, ergonomics, and durability. Utilizing material, design, and aesthetic considerations we have for the home.
A range of high-quality veneers complement sustainably sourced timbers, applied with a wide array of environmentally friendly stains granting a bespoke colour palette to the collection. Powder-coated steel adds rigidity and strength. Adorned by a wide range of soft materials and in-house 3D-printed hinges. Forme desks and meeting room tables implement overengineered modular power/cable management systems and heavy-duty lift columns.

Project Innovation/Need
FORME has enabled ECLAT to develop a signature interior design language observing its focus on branded experiences and bespoke outcomes, enabling its unique workspace model to thrive and scale. This vertical production and design capability enables the imaginations and capabilities of interior designers and property developers to deliver future instances of Eclat with custom furniture collections, modular ceiling resolutions, feature pieces, and bespoke joinery to complement their design and construction activities. Supporting endless possibilities for innovation and creativity, elevating design whilst improving efficiency, with each collection having a flavor inspired by the local region and its culture.
We aspire to elevate interior design outcomes throughout the entire footprint of Eclat venues, not just in common areas. Every single office and every hallway are opportunities for meaningful design impact and improved well-being. At your desk within your office, is where you spend a lot of productive time. Providing sculptural furniture and artistic interiors, results in a tangible and visible benefit to every Eclat member and their guests which champions a far deeper connection between patrons and physical space.
Design Challenge
As the way we work, live, and play changes, new norms demand a new approach to the future of the office and the home. Forme X Eclat represents the onboarding of all supportive elements typically in proximity to the traditional and flexible office space into a unified operation; seamlessly incorporating hospitality, supplementary services, events, wellness, accommodation, CRM development, and facilities management.
The design and fabrication capabilities of Forme represent a strategic investment in our novel workspace format, observing the new wants and needs of consumers and dramatically changing expectations of professionals and businesses alike. To continue pushing boundaries by creating multifaceted lifestyle-oriented destinations that offer a more beneficial and integrated experience for the end user.
Sustainability
As with all forms of fabrication, furniture design is an industry where environmental impact is a significant factor. As we strive to constantly push design forward, the integration of technology into the FORME design and fabrication process allows the team to achieve greater environmental efficiency.
Forme meticulously maps out each piece of a design in order to make the best use of timber and minimize material waste. With current wastage reduced to a mere 5%. With plans to continuously refine these environmentally conscious practices as Forme grows, the design house aims to evolve the way fabrication coexists with the world around us. Using select sustainable and low-impact materials, in consideration of their environmental impact.
Our furniture is designed to last. Timber surfaces undergo resurfacing at specific intervals, reducing the throwaway and replace mentality common in commercial workplace settings. Combined with our strategy to fabricate and assemble locally, minimizing freight and shipping footprints.
These disciplines are mirrored at ECLAT, removing single-use plastics in favor of reusable Huskee cups, and drastically improving energy efficiencies both in materials, lighting, and hardware use. Whilst prioritizing sustainable practices during design, through development, and ongoing during operational life.
