This project is all about branding Changsha to boost tourism and showcase the city’s unique character. With over 3,000 years of history, Changsha is known for its rich cultural heritage, its status as a historic crossroads of the Chu and Han dynasties, and as the “City of Happiness.”

The city’s traditional culture, stunning landscapes, and mouthwatering food attract visitors from all over the world. In this branding project, the design captures these local highlights and weaves them into the visual elements, giving potential visitors a clear sense of what makes Changsha worth remembering.

Project Innovation/Need

The BRANDING Changsha project covers brand design, website/APP design, logo creation, and advertising, all centered around the idea of “love” in Changsha. The design focuses on the city’s most memorable features: the traditional Ba Yu architecture, the modern and trendy IFC, the vibrant street life, and, of course, the mouthwatering local food.

Design Challenge

By translating these elements into a visual language, the project aims to build a bridge between Changsha and young people from around the world. The color palette in PLACE BRANDING Changsha is bold and eye-catching, creating a unique visual impact that highlights each theme. It’s all about showcasing how visitors will fall in love with the city’s food, its scenic views, and most importantly, its rich cultural heritage

Effectiveness

This project is a place brandings of a southern city in China called ChangSha. The goal and purpose of this project is topromote tourism. By capturing the spirit and characteristics ofthis city, the project will allow ChangSha to show its distinctivestrengths and to communicate a message internationally andspecifically to American audiences. The visual image and language would position to the younger market.




This award celebrates creative and innovative design in the traditional or digital visual representation of ideas and messages. Consideration given to clarity of communication and the matching information style to audience.
