Project Overview

This project is a visionary undertaking that aims to create a state-of-the-art factory for the development and manufacturing of innovative products. Situated in an existing factory park, the new factory has been designed with a keen eye on aesthetics and sustainability. The white color scheme is a continuation of the buildings in the park, lending a sense of continuity and harmony to the space. However, the simple yet elegant design approach adds a fresh, modern touch to the factory, making it stand out from its surroundings.

Project Brief

The company has made sustainability a top priority, and this is evident in every aspect of the factory's design and operation. From management practices and product design to plant space and landscape environment planning, the concept of sustainable ESG has been implemented throughout. The factory has adopted the "Guardian Tree" as its design theme, a symbol of strength, longevity, and sustainability. To further promote this message, a variety of green plants have been planted throughout the factory, creating a living, breathing ecosystem that promotes clean air and a healthy work environment.

The building's surface and internal facilities have been infused with “green thinking," incorporating sustainable materials and energy-saving technologies. This not only promotes environmental responsibility but also reflects the company's values and commitment to sustainability. The result is a factory that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also eco-friendly, sustainable, and aligned with the enterprise's vision.

Project Innovation/Need

The team has gone above and beyond in their design approach, creating a stunning and eye-catching feature on the southwest side of the building. Moreover, the theme of "Guardian Tree" has been seamlessly integrated into the design. A large metal tree artfully combines punched plates and parametric design. The different sizes of holes on the plates represent the tree trunk, leaves, and branches. As pedestrians move around, the visual effect of tree shadows is created, adding a sense of depth and movement to the facade. Furthermore, the unique design feature adds a distinctive and captivating element to the building's appearance. It provides a visually pleasing experience for all who pass by. Additionally, the team has expertly utilized the different sizes of holes to create a contrasting effect. Circular holes adorn the main facade wall, while the rest of the wall features symmetrical, sequential square openings, further emphasizing the image of the grand tree on the main wall. Lastly, the team's attention to detail and creative approach have resulted in an exceptional design that is sure to impress and inspire.

Design Challenge

To ensure a comfortable and efficient working environment for the factory staff, the team responsible for the building's design took into account both its functionality and visual appearance. To achieve this, the team implemented a clever double-layer façade design for the main wall of the building. The design began with establishing the factory's basic window plan, after which perforated steel panels were added to the external walls. The architects had two objectives in mind when incorporating a specific design element into the building's façade. Firstly, it was meant to enhance the building's overall aesthetic, contributing to its unique appearance. Secondly, it served a functional purpose by mitigating the negative effects of direct exposure to sunlight, particularly during sunset, by reducing the heat radiation. Furthermore, an air convection layer was created between the two layers of the façade, which resulted in a cool and comfortable interior space within the building. This innovative design ensured that the factory staff could work efficiently and comfortably, without being impacted by the sun's heat and radiation.

Sustainability

This project aims to support sustainable development by using environmentally friendly paints as the primary building materials. Additionally, the project includes greening and beautification initiatives in the park to enhance air quality and reduce the urban heat island effect through extensive planting. Moreover, the project plans to incorporate a solar energy system in the future to increase the utilization of green energy in the factory. This will move the project towards environmental sustainability and align with the enterprise's values of innovation and environmental protection.
