Project Overview

Life requires a sense of ceremony, which means having an attitude of love, seriousness, respect, and reverence towards life. Adding a sense of ceremony to your home space can elevate your living experience and promote happiness. To design a space that truly reflects the owner, the designer should listen to their needs, observe their occupation and outward appearance, and translate those into the space accordingly.

Project Brief

When the designer first contacted the homeowner, he sensed they were a young couple who valued a high quality of life and a good ambiance. As a result, the design focus of this project was determined to include taste, details, texture, and comfort. The base colors of the space were selected to be white and milky teal to create a comfortable, soft, and elegant spatial image. To enhance the style, rose gold titanium-plated lines were added as embellishments, achieving a key highlighting effect.

Project Innovation/Need

At the entryway, the designer utilized the available space efficiently by creating a storage area on the left diagonal wall with a spacious shoe cabinet to cater to the homeowner's storage needs. The back wall of the shoe area is designed with a grille pattern, allowing hooks for hanging dirty clothes to be interspersed with it. This design is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Moving towards the public area, one will notice that the open plan integrates the living room, dining room, and kitchen, providing ample space for activities for the homeowner and their guests. The zigzag pattern in the design connects the trajectory of the residents' lives, enhancing the smoothness of walking.

Design Challenge

Notably, the built-in wine cabinet on the side of the central island required precise measurements. The designer had to measure the volume of the storage cabinet inside the central island and coordinate with the stone factory before the marble could be perfectly wrapped around the central island and inlaid into the wine cabinet. In the primary suite bedroom, the designer took into consideration the homeowner's desire for a dressing room. To meet the owner's needs, the partition wall between the master bedroom and the guest bedroom was pushed towards the guest bedroom, creating a spacious dressing room. Consistent style elements were used in both the public and private areas to achieve harmony in the residential space. The homeowner will not experience any sense of disconnection between the different spaces.

Sustainability

As environmental protection becomes increasingly important, it is crucial to incorporate energy-saving and eco-friendly concepts into space design. To achieve this, the designer installed a one-touch control switch in the dust area. This switch allows homeowners to easily turn off the power when leaving the house, thereby preventing unnecessary energy waste. Additionally, the wood panels used throughout the house are made of low formaldehyde materials that adhere to environmental regulations. Not only are these panels safe for humans, but they also contribute to the goal of protecting the planet. With these elements in place, residents can enjoy a comfortable and healthy living environment while also leaving a sustainable world for future generations.
