This Underwater Bone Conduction Headphone is tailored for swimmers. Bone conduction headphones available on the market are uncomfortable to wear and if the user wants to wear them firmly, it is often painful. As a sports-focused brand, JAZZ DAWN has been aware of the pain point and presents this headphone that allows users to get immersed in music without putting anything in their ears, which is believed to enhance the swimming experience.

Project Brief

JAZZ DAWN FL21, a product featuring fluid dynamics design and relying on the bone conduction principle. Sound transmitted via head bone gives swimmers a sort of experience that they never had before - listening to music while swimming. When swimming, it can firmly fit the head at diving, sprinting, rolling and turning, an uninterrupted immersion to fair-sounding. It features a one-piece body, a fully enclosed cavity and IP68 waterproof rating, delivering an ultimate and immersive exercise experience even in deep water. It comes with 16G memory, supports native playback and gets off the restraints of Bluetooth connection. What's more, FL21’s outdoor FM mode makes the radio heard underwater.

Project Innovation/Need

What makes FL21 differentiated from traditional headphones is the safer and healthier way of listening to music: users can hear music by simply putting it on their heads rather than in or around their ears. With this open-back headphone, the user readily has an access to surfing, swimming, diving or any exercise in water, there is no worry about slipping off, and clear sound quality is always under reach. The extra FM mode makes it the only one headphone available on the market that supports tuning in the radio while swimming.

Design Challenge

Electronic products specifically for underwater scenarios are quite challenged by a certain content of disinfectant in pools, which in turn subjects materials to a severe test. Through structural modifications and powerful battery upgrades, FL21 can run up to 12 hours and support a long duration and range of exercise.

Sustainability

The sustainable development goal is fulfilled in respect of developing eco-friendly materials, increasing energy efficiency, modifying package design and reducing plastic use. The package preferably uses biodegradable paper and reasonable structure whenever possible in order to reduce packaging volume. Each headphone reduces the use of new plastic material by 10%.
