Project Overview

This design project focuses on developing a private residential apartment building nestled in the heart of the city. The design incorporates a harmonious blend of materials such as luxurious marble, warm wood, and vibrant art paint. These elements are carefully crafted to feature rounded corners, intricate grooves, and elegant lines to create a visually appealing structure. Soft, indirect lighting is strategically placed to accentuate the building's rich architectural details, casting captivating light and shadow effects.

Project Brief

The designer's "people-oriented" approach ensures that the residential space is carefully tailored to meet the diverse needs of its occupants. A thoughtfully simple layout not only provides seamless living routes but also fosters an inviting and spacious living environment. Additionally, clever utilization of corner spaces integrates practical storage solutions without compromising the overall sense of openness, ensuring that residents can enjoy both a visually stunning and functional interior space.

Project Need

Upon entering the living room, one is greeted by the distinctive juxtaposition of the white ceiling against the dark walls and furniture. The woodwork ceiling above the TV wall serves to unify these elements, harmonizing the overall color scheme and providing a visually soothing experience for the occupants. The sofa's rear wall is adorned with a blend of light gray marble and dark wood grain, complemented by a discreet black straight-line mirror, evoking an understated sense of opulence. The transition to the dining and kitchen area is softened by rounded woodwork, which not only mitigates the angularity of the space but also enhances safety within frequently traversed pathways. Maximizing the wall space, the designer has installed a cabinet, while the partial openness of the display cabinet serves to alleviate any visual constriction. Separated only by a central island bar, the dining room and kitchen are rendered more streamlined and spacious, fostering enhanced communication and interaction among the inhabitants, thereby fulfilling the essential function of nurturing emotional bonds.

Design Challenge

In the private area, the use of wooden flooring serves to create a distinct ambiance compared to the marble flooring in the public area. The design of the flooring prioritizes the safety of the residents by ensuring there are no height differences, which minimizes the risk of tripping and injury, thus enhancing the overall comfort and safety of the living space.

The master bedroom features a stylish dressing room, separated by a sleek glass sliding door that not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also saves valuable space that would have been occupied by a traditional door. The color palette chosen for this space consists of warm browns and various shades of grey, offering a serene and inviting atmosphere for the residents to unwind and relax in after a hectic day.

Sustainability

In the private areas of the residence, wooden flooring is used to create a distinct contrast from the elegant marble flooring found in the public areas. The design takes into consideration the safety of the residents, ensuring that the flooring has no height differences to minimize the risk of tripping and injuries, thus promoting a comfortable and secure living environment. The master bedroom features a convenient dressing room, separated by a sleek glass sliding door, optimizing space utilization. The color scheme, characterized by a harmonious blend of greys and warm browns, provides the bustling residents with a cozy and soothing retreat.
