Project Brief
The nightclub's theme was the predominate design factor for this project. We aimed at creating a space that features elements of cyberpunk and futuristic design.
The lighting design also played a large part in the overall feel. Spot lights and neon LEDs were used on the floors, walls and ceilings. We really wanted it to feel like walking into a 'spaceship'.
Project Innovation/Need
Our space ship concept is new to the Sydney nightlife market. This is the first nightclub that goes all in on the futuristic theme and aims to deliver a new experience to Sydney's night life goers.
Design Challenge
The budget was a challenge as we had a strict budget we had to stick to. To achieve the result that we got we had to be very creative and cost effective in our design approach.
Sustainability
To reduce our carbon foot print, we aimed at using materials from suppliers that cared deeply about sustainability. All of the waste from the construction was also recycled.
Interior Design - Hospitality - Eat & Drink
This award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors where people eat and drink - this includes bars, restaurants, cafes and clubs. Judging consideration is given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration also given to space allocation, traffic flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
