Light and Shadow Design

Project Brief

This sales center designed based on Eastern culture subtly integrates minimalism and natural elements to realize a rich play of light and shadow for emotional resonance, creating an emotionally engaging sales environment with a sense of visual layering through the carefully arranged light and shadow, colors, materials and layouts. Each detail, in the calm, elegant reception hall, the peaceful, exquisite discussion area, as well as the warm, comfortable bar area and VIP reception area, is meticulously crafted, reflecting the designer’s unique insights into Eastern aesthetics and her pursuit of extremely high quality of life.

Project Need

This project cleverly emphasizes the essence of Eastern culture and minimalism through the perfect combination of form and content, enabling a dream-like artistic atmosphere. When twilight comes on, the marble reception desk featuring patterns reminiscent of ink wash paintings, harmoniously contrasts with the glossy metal art installation, creating a serene environment with profound Eastern cultural significance in the rich play of light and shadow. The crystal-clear Chinese dragon and phoenix installation over the sand table under light showcases the vitality of life while enhancing spatial transparency, adding a sense of dynamism and liveliness.
As the core of the sales center, the discussion area mainly adopts earth tones, with solid wood wall protection panels and off-white & tan furniture pieces working together to exude calmness and grace. The bar area features simple, clear lines and soft colors, warm and elegant; the VIP reception area styled in an understated manner is decorated with exquisite paintings to highlight the delicate, rich Eastern aesthetics, immersing visitors in Eastern culture spiritually and visually.

Design Challenge

The biggest challenge was to avoid shallowness and accurately convey the essence of Eastern culture in the design. The designer has merged the essence of Eastern culture with modern design language to create a unique style featuring both traditional charm and modernity, making the space a carrier of culture and spirit through the mutual conversion between form and content.
Light and shadow are the crucial design elements of this project, which is utilized to create a progressive atmosphere, leading to a dynamic aesthetic in the static space. The glossy metal art installation paired with the rich play of light and shadow not only gives a sense of visual layering but also injects vitality and emotion into the space. Additionally, the carefully arranged materials, colors, layouts, and other elements significantly improve the artistic and aesthetic value while equipping the project with the sales function, striking a perfect balance between practicality and aesthetic appeal.

Sustainability

Focusing on environmental protection, this project prioritizes low-energy consumption, recyclable or renewable materials, to reduce environmental impact.
The reasonable layout design brings natural light into the space to the maximum extent, minimizing the use of artificial illumination to lower energy consumption.
Ecological elements including green plants and water features are introduced to enhance the quality of the project’s environment and to provide visitors with opportunities to get close to nature.
