Project Brief

The Small Mushroom Electric Mosquito Repellent combines a night light with a heating system for mosquito-repellent liquid. Its adorable, rounded mushroom shape adds a cozy touch to each room. Boasting a user-friendly single-cycle timer that accommodates either 8- or 12-hour intervals, and a cyclic timing mode, it offers users the convenience of presetting its operation time as needed. This adaptable feature not only conserves energy but also improves ease of use.

Project Innovation/Need

This plug-in mosquito repellent innovatively combines its basic functionality with a night light. Its adorable shape, reminiscent of a small mushroom nestled in the forest, adds a chic flair to any wall. As night falls, the night light seamlessly switches on alongside the mosquito repellent, enveloping the space in a cozy embrace of warm light that fosters a peaceful sleep ambiance. Moreover, the light dynamically adjusts its intensity in sync with breathing patterns, creating a soft, pulsating effect that soothes the mind and body.

Design Challenge

The primary challenge in this design was to deliver a safer and smarter user experience without compromising its exceptional mosquito-repellent performance.
To this end, this mosquito repellent utilizes a PTC thermistor as its heating element, ensuring minimal fluctuations during evaporation and more stable operation compared to alternative methods. This feature effectively preserves the effectiveness of the liquid repellent, eliminating unwanted smoke and odors. In addition to its core function of mosquito prevention, an additional LED is incorporated, casting warm light to create a cozy, mosquito-free ambiance at night. Furthermore, the device not only offers a single-timing switch control but also a cyclic timing mode, automatically working at preset intervals to adapt to users' daily routines. This feature exemplifies how intelligent technology can simplify everyday life.

This electric mosquito repellent integrates a safe and effective solvent from ExxonMobil with an eco-friendly and stable birch dispersion wick, ensuring powerful protection against mosquitoes while prioritizing users' health and environmental sustainability.
Its single-timing switch control and cyclic timing mode allow users to preset its operation intervals in accordance with their personal routines. This feature not only reduces excess mosquito repellent usage but also saves electricity, aligning with the modern call for resource conservation.
