Project Overview
This project outlines the planning for a cocktail bar. The proprietor envisions a space that embodies both an appealing and distinctive aesthetic, aimed at promoting a high-quality beverage culture. To realize this vision, the designer employed natural dynamic curves and the textures of raw materials, thereby creating an understated, tranquil, and modern atmosphere that echoes the organic architectural beauty found in natural caves. This design not only facilitates a seamless integration of diverse cultural elements but also provides patrons with a refreshing and enriching experience.

Project Brief
To emulate the curves and texture characteristic of a natural cave, the designer has intentionally opted to eliminate superfluous decorations, emphasizing instead the intrinsic beauty of the materials utilized. The incorporation of soft lighting throughout the space fosters an intimate and serene atmosphere, promoting a sense of harmony with nature and ensuring that customers experience genuine enjoyment and a feeling of security. Furthermore, the carefully arranged seating, the conveniently designed cocktail pull-out wall, and the clearly organized display of drink items collectively fulfill the owner's functional requirements for the space.
Project Need
The overall ambiance of the space is characterized by a low-key and restrained aesthetic, which sharply contrasts with the vibrant activity of an Asian city, creating a sense of tranquil escape. The entrance is adorned with an antique wooden door that reflects the simplicity inherent in the design. The walls and ceiling are meticulously hand-painted to evoke natural landscapes. Furthermore, a metal sliding wall introduces a strong visual contrast to a curved wall, effectively balancing more rugged components with delicate features. This design choice enhances the spatial complexity and artistry within the environment.
Design Challenge
The bar counter is elegantly designed with curved lines to facilitate smooth movement and improve work efficiency. The drinks display area on the back wall features a minimalist design, allowing for easy brand changes while maintaining a clear visual appeal. The seating area includes varied shapes extending from the wall, providing a flexible layout that fosters a comfortable wine-tasting environment. Furthermore, the use of aesthetically pleasing and functional materials, such as plaster and natural textures, effectively minimizes reflective noise and enhances the inviting nature of the space.
This project departs from conventional straight lines and square layouts, utilizing CNC technology to create a dynamic space. The design features a curved wall and bar counter that embody an organic, flowing aesthetic. Emphasizing a blend of manual craftsmanship and natural textures, the walls are constructed on a metal mesh base with handmade mud, resulting in a distinct texture that sets this space apart from typical environments. This approach not only enhances the visual appeal but also highlights and celebrates the simple beauty of nature.
Sustainability
The design prioritizes simplicity and minimalism, eliminating decorative materials to reduce waste and lower long-term maintenance costs, thereby enhancing sustainability. The project utilizes low-energy, high-power LED lighting to decrease overall power consumption. Furthermore, it incorporates an innovative design that seamlessly blends high-quality beverage culture with traditional East Asian aesthetics, enriching the quality of life and fostering cultural exchange. This approach not only improves the venue's effectiveness but also aligns with contemporary sustainability practices.
