Project Brief

The setting draws upon the rich heritage of the British royal family and aristocracy, incorporating evocative references to iconic figures and esteemed institutions such as Queen Elizabeth, Eton College, the Duke of Wellington, and Prince William. These historical elements serve as a foundation for thoughtfully crafted communal amenities, which include a sophisticated living room, a serene study, an upscale bar, and elegantly designed dining and kitchen areas. The result is a high-end residence that not only prioritizes practicality but also captivates the senses, offering residents a refined environment where elegance meets functionality.

Project Need

Upon entering the inviting atmosphere of Elizabeth Hall, guests are immediately immersed in an environment that evokes the grandeur of the Age of Discovery. Dominating the first floor is a bar counter designed to resemble the bridge of a majestic ship, perched at the highest point of the slab. The space is elegantly adorned with exquisite imported crystal lamps and sumptuous stone surfaces, setting the stage for a truly VIP experience that welcomes both residents and visitors alike. As one ventures deeper into the Eaton Room, the expanse unfolds into an enchanting open area that beautifully integrates stylish furnishings, a curated selection of books, and a self-playing piano. This thoughtfully designed space serves as a vibrant social hub, embodying the essence of humanistic values and celebrating British culture, which in turn fosters a strong sense of community among its residents.

Design Challenge

Exploring the details reveals classical long tables and chairs inviting both conversation and contemplation; the fireplace wall graced with artful paintings; and door frames crafted from rustic white stone that add a timeless elegance. The design team has expertly employed a variety of door styles to create depth and layers throughout the space. Among these are striking sandblasted totem double doors featuring vibrant teal and amber glass, as well as an arched door equipped with a diagonal handle, complemented by a wooden lattice wall that frames picturesque views of the lush garden beyond. Ascending the staircase, visitors discover a shared kitchen on the top floor, a culinary haven where residents can exchange cooking skills and engage in communal activities. This area is infused with character, showcasing red cave stone, radiant crystal chandeliers, arched windows, and soaring ceilings, all of which resonate with the elegance of British royal heritage and the timeless charm of ancient castles. Notably, each stone has been meticulously cut to a thin profile and integrated using back-net technology, an innovation that not only reduces the depletion of natural resources but also enhances sound insulation. This thoughtful approach harmonizes aesthetics and functionality, ensuring that every aspect of the space is both beautiful and practical.

Sustainability

This innovative design embodies a seamless integration of culture, aesthetics, and functionality, while prioritizing environmental sustainability. At its core, the project utilizes high-efficiency, energy-saving LED lighting throughout all rooms. These thoughtfully selected fixtures not only emit a warm, even glow, but they also significantly diminish power consumption, contributing to both energy conservation and carbon footprint reduction. A noteworthy feature of this design is the implementation of a rainwater recycling system. This system captures and repurposes rainwater for the irrigation of gardens and public landscaping, effectively reducing water waste and lowering utility expenses. This initiative fosters a sustainable living environment that is both eco-friendly and resource-efficient.

In addition, a state-of-the-art garbage refrigeration and waste sorting and recycling system has been strategically installed in the basement. This system ensures adherence to the highest standards of hygiene and waste management, maintaining a clean and healthy space for residents and visitors alike. The incorporation of green design elements extends beyond functionality, enveloping the perimeter of the site and gracing the top floor. Lush landscapes flow seamlessly from outdoor gardens into the building, not only enhancing the visual appeal but also enriching the overall quality of life for residents. This verdant integration promotes a sense of “green thinking,” inspiring individuals to recognize the value of the earth’s resources and fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural ecological environment. Through this design, a delicate balance between human habitation and nature is celebrated, creating a space that invites tranquility and sustainability.
