Project Brief

The innovative insulating glass window with a built-in louvre excels in protection, durability, and intelligence. It features a permanent magnet transmission system, which allows for easy control of the louvre without intricate wiring. By integrating an external motor and solar-powered charging technology, the window eliminates all exposed wiring, greatly simplifying installation and enhancing overall sealing performance. Operating the louvre is a breeze—simply use the remote control, voice commands, or the dedicated app. Additionally, the window can be seamlessly integrated into a smart home system, making it well-suited for modern living.

Project Innovation/Need

- The insulating glass window with a built-in louver stands out due to its innovative features: a non-contact permanent magnet transmission system, an external motor that supports multiple control methods (remote control, voice commands, and a dedicated app), and solar powered wireless charging technology that operates without consuming additional energy or generating carbon emissions. These advanced features not only eliminate exposed wiring but also offer practical benefits, including excellent thermal insulation rated level 7, water tightness of up to 700 Pa, and noise reduction down to 35 db.

- The magnetic field strength, planetary gear count, and configuration are precisely engineered to optimise the transmission ratio, meeting a wide range of torque and force transfer requirements while ensuring the smooth operation of large louvres. The stable and durable aluminium-magnesium alloy slats, enhanced by a thoughtfully curved design, effectively regulate both the angle and intensity of incoming sunlight, providing reliable protection against UV exposure.

Design Challenge

In traditional windows with built-in louvers, the motor is placed within the insulating glass. This can be problematic, as the high temperatures in summer may shorten its service life. Another issue arises when wiring penetrates the sealant, compromising wind resistance, airtightness, and water tightness. In response, this design moves the motor outside the glass, protecting it from heat-related performance degradation and extending its service life. Additionally, the design combines a non-contact permanent magnet transmission system and solar-powered wireless charging technology, eliminating the drawbacks of exposed wiring. This approach fully overcomes the limitations commonly found in conventional window designs.

Sustainability

- The built-in louvre allows users to flexibly adjust the amount of sunlight streaming in, reflecting approximately 60% of solar heat outward. This excellent insulation performance reduces the load on air conditioning systems, thereby contributing to both energy saving and emission reduction.

- Integrated with solar-powered wireless charging technology, the external motor runs without using additional energy or generating carbon emissions. This design embodies the brand’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

- With the motor placed externally, maintenance is significantly simplified, as there’s no need to replace the entire glass panel. This approach also cuts down on resource waste.
